Bradach manor is probably the first building you see as you drive into Knysna from George  -  perched imposingly on it's hillside, it's cream and white balconies and balustrades looking out across the lagoon.

And inside it's no less impressive with the 2/3 story high glass fronted atrium and ... that view.  Actually we discovered the view the following day arriving as we did in thick fog and rain not guaranteed to show Knysna at its best.

Our room was spacious and charmingly dominated by the four poster.  French doors lead out to a large balcony.

The bathroom was through a large, open arch off the bedroom and contained an enormous bath behind moulded columns which, had it contained Amanda Barrie up to her chin in milk could have come straight off the set of "Carry On Cleo".

It's possibly a generational thing but I prefer a toilet with a door and not an ill fitting, flimsy curtain.  Ho hum.

The staff were great and the boss man, Pieter, exceptionally helpful in assisting me with a car hire issue during the course of our stay.  Similarly, breakfasts are excellent  -  especially once the fog had lifted and we were able to enjoy the view  -  with the best selection of fruit yet and great cooked options.

I'm inclined to think that Knysna Waterfront is a drive rather than a walk, nonetheless .... just a great place to hole up whilst exploring the area.  We greatly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful converted old mansion with personality and elegance.  The two rooms we stayed at had great views of the bay and were well appointed.  The management and staff were professional and guest friendly.  The on-site restaurant served tasty dishes from a varied menu with daily specials and reasonable prices.  The full English breakfast served on the patio was very good and rich in selection.  Overall, this was a very pleasant stay.  If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay at the Bradach Manor.

Elegance and Views

A beautifull place to stay, very nice people, excellent rooms with TV, fridge and a big bed, nice complete bathroom and a perfect breakfast.
Definately a must go.
Don't leave your window open because of the monkeys ;-)

A room with a view....

Our group stayed a week at Bradach Manor, we room was at Alfred's Manor side. Splendid view to Knysna lagoon, the building is on a bit higher ground than main building -> no obstacles. 
The personel is the real gem of this guest house, their work attitude and friendliness was just superb. Our rooms was good with big terrace. Water pressure was a bit low time to time.
Knysna Waterfront in a walking distance away, though the uphill walk back needs some legwork.

Great week at Bradach Manor

For starters, I've read the "terrible" reviews and I honestly don't know what was to complain about. From the first second we saw the hostess, she was smiling from ear to ear, eagerly awaiting to make it a perfect stay for us. The little chat during breakfast where she's genuinely interested in your plans, she has very good tips according to your plans. It was a true delight coming and sleeping here. We'll definitely come back here if we go to Knysna again!
