A great venue for our family gathering. Spacious apartments with excellent self-catering facilities. Plenty for the kids to do in the yard. Shops and amazing beach within walking distance. Well looked after, thank you. Until next time! 

Family reunion in Gonubie

Loved staying at the Rose & Ale. Quiet suburb. Very private. The room was clean and comfortable
 All amenities were shipshape. Staff friendly and helpful. Good Wi-Fi connection. Very close - walking distance - to shops; local hotel and beach. Wonderful spot to spend a few days in near solitude.

Rose & Ale B&B in Gonubie, East London, RSA

My husband and I arrived from Jhb on Monday afternoon 12th September and once we saw The Rose Cottage and went inside we knew we would love our stay there. Inside was everything we would need for our few days stay. Would definitely recommend Rose and Ale to our friends and family. 

Our stay at Rose and Ale

We stayed in the Aztec Room and I was a really nice space. The pictures on the site are accurate to what you get when you arrive. The beds were very comfortable, the Wi-Fi connection was great, the amenities were exactly what we needed for our short stay, and the manager was so accommodating and helpful; even before we arrived. The location is easy to find and in a street that has access to all sorts of services. You don’t need to travel too far to find what you need. 
The only down side was that the upstairs neighbours were quite loud and you could hear all their movements and talking.  Besides that it was a great stay. 

Brief but lovely stay

I had entered a marathon and needed a place to stay. The Rose and Ale ticked all the boxes. Efficient booking system and well-stocked cupboards for a self-catering unit. It was comfortable and neat. It's close to the beach and the shops.

It just worked!

Our self-catering room at the Rose & Ale was compact but spotless and fitted with every convenience. The kitchen area was new and very well thought-out. Efficient and organized remote check-in procedure. It was only a short walk to Gonubie beach, where there is a scenic boardwalk to the river mouth.

Thank you for a fantastic stay albeit a short one; everything was secure, neat, tidy and clean - excellent location -  easy check in and out ;   I will definitely stay here again on my next trip down to Gonubie.   Thanks much 

FANTASTIC STAY

excellent in all respects:
The bathroom, kitchen and bedroom space was good, very clean and the bed was very comfortable, beautifully furnished. The view was the best,the ocean view, in a very safe area/environment.

The property was very beautiful and clean- it exceeded my expectations

I was wonderfully surprised by how spacious and gorgeous the Rose and Ale Retro Room was! The place will make an amazing family getaway. It was very neat and clean, which is always really appreciated. It is also close to a beautiful beach!

Everything you need and more!

The cottage was so well equipped. It was comfortable and clean.  The fan was welcome and an added bonus as the humidity reached nearly 100% that weekend.  My little girl loved the swings and trampoline. We will definitely stay there again.
