Vila Polar

What a great hotel this is. Located just on the edge of the town centre and a 3 min walk to the nearest restaurants and the lake. It is a modern Penzion and the rooms are immaculately clean. It is very well priced for the area and the staff are first class. Breakfast is served on the lower floor and was excellent. 

Overnight stay in Strbske Pleso

We spent 2 nights at the Vila Polar and we had a very good stay. The hotel is recent and very clean. The room - although not very big - was perfect for a weekend of hiking. The location is great, close to the train station and not far from the lake. Anyway it is a small village and everything is nearby. The hotel provides Crocs for guests which is helpful after walking in the snow. The views from hotel are stunning, especially from the top floor. We found the wifi a bit weak but one should not be on their phone with such surroundings! : ) The staff was extremely nice and helpful. 

Hotel room with a view

This has become my favourite place to stay in Strbske pleso. The hotel doesnt really look like a mountain hotel but the views from the rooms change that once inside. It is clean and has excellent breakfast. On all my stays the service has been fantastic. The caretaker even ordered pizza for us and then went to pick it up when we were too tired to move after 12h in the mountains. The bar on the 8th floor is a perfect place to chill after a hard day.It is cosy,  cheap and has a surprisingly good wine fridge. One evening during a thunderstorm the atmosphere was amazing. The best value in Strbske pleso.

Best service ever

We stayed for a weekend and were treated very well, the rooms were in good condition and very attentive to the room and breakfast, and the cleaning and the willingness to please the customer were very much recommended.

Excellent treatment.

Situated a few minutes walk from the train station (use the crossing over the rails), Vila Polar has nice and clean rooms with shared balcony heading either towards the mountains or down to the valley of Strba. As a slight downside, train can be heard on its way to the station. Breakfast is a good option for the price, served downstairs starting from 7h30. There are many pictures of polar bears and other animals on the walls of the corridors and the place is children friendly. 

Helpful staff and nice breakfasts

We visited vila polar in June with our toddler & were made to feel very welcome and comfortable by Dusan & team.

It's quite a new building in the area - hanging just on the edge off the mountain. The entire place is polar themed - with rooms numbered like -4 deg, 2 deg etc. There are photos & soft toys of polar bears, penguins all over which our son really enjoyed exploring.

Rooms are fairly sparse - but work well. Location is excellent - just off strbske pleso train station. The Views from the rooms - esp higher floors - overlook the valley which is spectacular. 

Breakfast was great as well. The staff even specially made vegetarian dishes for us.

Dusan himself is an awesome host. We relied on him for a lot of information - with a lot of emails before we arrived & then face to face when there. He communicated very well & even personally helped out (e.g. allowed us to use his laundry, gave tips on what to do in the tatras, helped find tatry cards before our arrival etc). 

All in all, we left with a great experience & a life stock of happy memories from strbske pleso - Thanks to vila polar :)

Brilliant, polar themed hotel - near the station

Room was a tad small but everything is of immaculate cleanliness with a supremely friendly host. Breakfast is at extra cost but we felt it was reall worth it even though you could do it cheaper on your own, but hot drinks, good selection wins this one. We will probably visit again.
