I booked this for a good price and arrived fairly late one evening. The host checked me in quickly and showed me my room.

The room itself was clean, comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the castle. The bathroom was large with a big bathtub in one corner. There was a wardrobe, good sized bed and plenty of space to unpack my case. 

I walked down to the castle that evening and the next morning, it took 6-7 minutes and was easy and safe. 

The next morning breakfast was set out as a buffet and there was also an option of having something cooked (eggs I think, amongst other things). The buffet was fine but a few more options would have been great.

Wifi was free and was of a good quality, the rooms were non-smoking so didn't smell of smoke.

The owners were very friendly and helpful, check out was quick and they allowed me to leave my car in their car park whilst I walked down to the castle for a few hours of sightseeing. When I returned the owner invited me in for a quick coffee before I set off for Brasov but because I was in quite a hurry I declined - really nice of him though.

A few people saying this place is hard to find but I found it really easy. Google Maps has the place listed accurately and I have submitted a 360 photo so you can see how easy it is to spot. 

I'm glad I stayed here and would happily stay again if I returned to the area.

Great For The Castle

The Guest House is barely 5 minutes’ walk from Bran Castle which can be seen through the trees so no need to drive or have to squeeze into the car park by the castle.

Casa Doina is an Ideal choice for Bran Castle or visiting the local area, we stayed here overnight before getting into the castle ahead of the tour buses.   The accommodation is a modern  alpine style chalet building with lots of exposed timber and is clean and spacious. The location is quieter than most others. 

A basic  locally produced breakfast is available and evening meals can be taken at one of the restaurants by the castle. If you want to avoid the tourist restaurants and you fancy eating local food with holidaying Romanian’s you could walk to Club Vila Bran which is just passed Casa Doina. 

We arrived here after dark due to being delayed at various nearby roadworks for nearly an hour and the darkness made the house hard to find with GPS. Our GPS took us past Casa Doina and out into the countryside but the building is actually vey easy to find if your ignore your GPS when you turn off the main road. If you travel more than 1 minute you have passed it.
If you arrive from Cheia then drive past Bran Castle and take the second turning on your right (route 50) just after the 3 bends , then take a turn on your left in to the narrow Strada Alunis after about 50 metres, Casa Doina  is a few houses along on the left.
If you arrive from Rasnov then you must turn left down a small road (route 50) about 500 m  before you get to  Bran Castle and then after about 50 metres take a turn on your left into narrow Strada Alunis., Casa Doina is a few houses along on the left

Ideal for Bran Castle or staying in the local area

Even tough we arrived in the middle of the night the patron was there to greet us and show us to our very comfortable and spacious rooms.
The views form each were stunning - the forests and Castle Drac - and overlooking olive groves.
They also held breakfast for us when we rose late (after our late travels)
They couldn't have been more polite

Bran in the Woods

A nice and relaxing place to stay when you are in the area of Bran. The staff/owners are nice and helpful. The rooms and garden are good for a nice relaxing stay and if you want a bbq. The breakfast is simple but good.

The guesthouse is situated at 10-15 min. walking distance from Bran Castle on a quiet street. It has a big yard with a nice terrace for drinking the morning coffee and a generous barbeque area with all the facilities. The rooms are clean and have very nice traditional painted furniture. Good breakfast. Some rooms have a very nice view to Bran Castle.
The wi-fi signal was very poor
