Constellation Houses

We spent 7 nights in Constellation Houses in October 2014. The complex is situated in a 30 minutes drive from Funchal, and as we had a night flight and understood that we wouldn't have found the way from the airport on our own, we ordered a transfer. Senhor Fernandes, the landlord, met us at the villa, gave the keys, said some words about our villa (with the help of the interpretor-driver who brought us from the airport), and wished us good-night saying he would take the money next morning, after we had enough sleep and rest. In the morning we paid for accomodation and got the car from the rental company - the car is necessary on the island. Afterwards the first arrival we got to the villa guided by the signs and gps. In my opinion, some inconveniences connected with the location of the villa didn't matter because the villa itself was great. Inside everything is absolutely new, airy, clean and fresh, the rooms were done regularly, set of kitchen utensils and equipment allows to live and feel at home, and when we arrived there was a welcome-set of tea, coffee, sugar, buscuits, that was very pleasant and helpful on the first morning! We didn't watch TV, wi-fi is good in the living-room and kitchen and didn't work on other floors, it broke twice, we switched the modem off and on and it worked. The view from the balcony is fantastic! Mountains, a chapel with a bell tolling from time to time, a piece of ocean in the far - life quiet and contented. We enjoyed our villa and the view every day. There are a table and chairs on the balcony, so we could have breakfast and dinner there. There were neighbors in one of the villas, but we never heard them. Senhor Fernandes is a very nice and kind person, we talked some times (I speak Portuguese a little, Senhor Fernandes speaks just few words in English), and the lady who cleaned the villa is also very nice. We couldn't find the iron at first and left a note for her, in the evening there were an iron and an ironing board next to washing machine. There were no other problems during our stay, everything was great, we had a warm good-bye with the landlord. We recommend Constellation Houses to everyone! Senhor Fernandes, obrigada por tudo!
