If you don't like the crowded en touristic places you should go to this guesthouse! The owner is super friendly an always at your service. The rooms are very nice, spacious and cosy. The food is delicious and you she prepares special local dishes for you. Try the menado! You need a motorcycle to go to tagliaban and other places and beaches. (She has one for rent) But there is a beach on walking distance (almost private beach) watch the stars at night in the swimmingpool :) thanks for the nice stay! 

Best guesthouse in Bohol!

We spent 4 nights at the French Kiss Resort in January 2014. (Actually we had planned to spent only two nights, but this place was so wonderful and the People were so nice, friendly and open-hearted that we decided to stay longer.)
When we arrived, it turned out that we are the only guests, since a lot of People had canceled their trips to the Philippines due to the hurricane a couple of weeks before. The owner Family gave us a very warm welcome and their friendliness did not change during our stay. All of them were so cute and helpful. We rented their motorbike for a very good price, they cooked special food for us without extra pricing, and even offered their own French wine when they learned that I am not really into beer… We had fantastic chats without feeling forced to talk or to stay in contact with them. 
The bungalow was spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated. The garden area was not huge, but really beautiful with big palm trees and a refreshing, clean swimming-pool. The food was really nice and fresh-cooked.

I can fully recommend this place to everybody who wants to have a kind of quiet time on Bohol. We did excursions to the chocolate hills, to Alona beach, to the bee farm (very nice food as well)…

A very special place

We stayed at the French Kiss resort for 3 nights and we wished we stayed longer. The staff were the most hospitable and friendly people you could meet, they ended up like family. The resort was fantastic! The Nipa huts were very traditional and were a great experience. Everything was very clean and the food was very much like home cooking. Francois, Amelita and John took very good care of us and helped organise everything including a driver and boatman to take us everywhere for the very best adventures. They went above and beyond to give us a very memorable last night and we would very much love to go back again!!

We very much recommend this to anyone who is going to Bohol!

Home from home

We spent 4 nights at the French Kiss and will definitely come back.  Everything was perfect. 

The location, on Panglao Island, is the perfect vacation retreat. There is lots to see (Chocolate Hills, Loboc River, churches, villages...), lots to do (snorkelling/diving, island hopping, adventure park...) and all kinds of beaches. If you need action, Alona Beach is a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride away. If you want  a huge empty beach lined with palm trees Dumaluan is only 5 minutes away by tuk-tuk and if you are a nature lover San Isidro Beach and a  walk along the coast is 10 minutes away by foot, crossing fields planted around lava rock formations.

The resort was recently built by Francois, Amelita, Maureen and John. This family takes great pain and pride in making the homeliest and coziest resort possible. We have never felt so welcomed and will definitely go back again. Each Nippa has 2 bedrooms, a sitting room and a spacious bath room. 

A place like no other, not to be missed.

Hospitality at it's Best !

While always hard to tell where something is by looking at hotel location maps, this resort didn't appear "too far" from the port or the beach. As it turns out neither is true, the resort was a solid 25-25 minute drive from the pier at Tagbilaran and we never did get to the beach that is a "10 minute walk through the jungle". 

Location aside, the resort is a fantastic place to stay if you want quiet and a location not overrun by tourists and the locals trying to sell them something. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and maintained and the quaint Nipa Houses (bungalows) were nicely constructed and  impeccably clean and comfortable.  The sparkling clean  pool was a welcome relief after a day of sun baking at Alona beach. 

The staff, all members of an expatriate and local family are very nice and very helpful and we had some nice conversations with them. They happily (for a small fee) transported us to Alona beach when we wanted to go and took us back to the pier on our day of departure. We only had breakfast at the hotel but it was very good and plentiful. Beverages were available for purchase in the "lobby" that could be stored in the good size refrigerator in the room. The only other caveat is that if you are a light sleeper the roosters at the farm next door could keep you up. Bring earplugs. 

The French Kiss is a gem of a place and we would stay there again on a return visit to Bohol.
