This is a terrific b&b: great location (central, and safe for walking alone at night), quiet, full of beautiful antiques, and the proprietors are extremely accommodating and kind. The homemade breakfasts are lovely and could keep you full the entire day if you're on a budget. I would definitely stay here again. Ask for rooms on the upper floors; on the ground floor you're right on the street, which is still quiet but you have to keep curtains closed for privacy.

Darby's Inn was a highlight of our stay in Stavanger.  The Inn is located in a quiet area but within walking distance to the main points in Stavanger or to public transport.  The hosts, Paul and Wenche, are helpful friendly, and dedicated to providing a pleasant experience for their guests.    We had decided to arrive in Stavanger a day earlier than planned, but they were full that night.  They contacted a neighbor who also has a B&B to see if we could stay there that night, and so we did.   Thanks, Paul and Wenche.  

Darby's offers a nice room, good breakfast, and pleasant conversations.  We will return the next time we visit Stavanger.

From the moment we stepped in the door I knew we had made the right choice.

Our host was first class in the welcome and the house is just so beautiful.

Bedroom was everything we needed together with a little kitchen next door where guests could use microwave or make tea or coffee at any time.

Breakfast was superb with a great range of food.
It was delightful sitting around a proper dining table in a tastefully decorated room exchanging our adventures with other guests.

The guesthouse is ideally situated in Stavanger and easy walk to most places of interest and ferries.

The bus stop to and from the airport is about a 5 minute walk.

What a wonderful place Wenche has conceived in Stavanger! This city is so full of boring business hotels of medium quality, and then you have Darby's Inn: An old fashioned, personable hotel experience that brings you back to feeling at home - away from home! Rooms are nice, common rooms are wonderful, and breakfast is a feast here you dine together with the other guests around the large dining table. Thanks for creating this wonderful atmosphere Wenche! We will definitely be back everytime we are in Stavanger!

I spent a night alone at Darby's and It was wonderful. Thanks to Paul (or Paolo!) and Wenche, they made me feel like home since I rang the door. It is a fantastic and historical building placed ten minutes walk from the city center or Gamle Stavanger. Paul gave me very interesting info about the family that built It: the interior is amazing and looks even better than you can see in the pictures.
They served a marvellous breakfast and in the evening I could appreciate (even though just for few minutes because It was late) the beautiful terrace  they have. I wanna thank them again for the wonderful hospitality, they are the perfect hosts.
I come back for sure next time I will visit Stavanger.

The extremely welcoming hosts have made such a beautifully decorated house with clean and nice rooms. 

The beds were comfortable, the room spacious and the bathroom was warm and delicate.

Only a short walk down to the colourful street.

Darby's is a brilliant inn run by one of the most wonderful couples (Paul and Wenche) we have met in our travels. It is a very storied inn, famous for writers visiting and we can see why. We enjoyed a tea and treats on the patio before heading to walk the city. It is in a quiet neighbourhood, a short stroll to the bus stops and harbour. 

The rooms are so comfortable you may not want to leave. Ask Paul and Wenche for their restaurant recommendations; they will not steer you wrong. Brekky is a delicious spread of nordic specialities. If offered a homemade smoothie, say YES. They are a special recipe and outstanding.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights here in September.  We enjoyed our visit from the time we walked through the front door until the time that we had to sadly leave for our next adventure in Norway.  Darby’s Inn is truly exceptional (beautifully furnished and conveniently located).  Wenche (the host) and her husband Paul excel in making you feel at home, ensuring that you enjoy your breakfasts, and in providing information relating to activities and sights in the Stavanger area.  Our room was well furnished, the bed was large and comfortable, and the en-suite bathroom was well outfitted for our every need.  At our suggestion, my wife’s cousin (from France) and his wife joined us at Darby’s and were given the room across the hall.   This was very convenient and the four of us enjoyed our time and breakfasts together.  The Inn is one of the best that we have stayed at in our travels.  We would, in a heartbeat, return if our future travels take us back to Norway and the Stavanger area.

Lovely welcome here. I felt at home and well-looked after. The room was immaculate, very comfortable and spacious. I also liked sitting out on the terrace. There was a little brew room with tea and coffee, a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was good with delicious bread and a good variety of things to eat. The hosts, Paul and Wenche, were friendly and helpful. It doesn't have a big sign outside it so best to be familiar with what the building looks like when trying to find it. Parking is not immediately outside the property but a short walk away. You can offload suitcases etc at the door and then park the car afterwards. It was a short, pleasant, safe walk to the town centre and there were a couple of supermarkets nearby. Restaurant recommendations were good.

Not too far from the centre, and in a quiet backstreet, this beautiful house is a great place to stay. The owners are very attentive and breakfast is excellent in a beautiful dining room. Bed very comfortable. A little gem.
