We stayed over at the room with a private toilet for 3 days - the room was acquitted with anything we can wish for. I appreciated the beautiful landscaping they have around the building and the restaurant. Breakfast was nice and the restaurant is located outside - good food for a cheap price!

Absolutely amazing!

We stayed two days. The beds are relaxing, the food is a mixture of Norwegian and Thai kitchen, fresh and tasty. The owner and his crew is very service minded. Charging of electric car is possible. The place is perfect for walking tours in the mountains near by in West Norway. We recommend this place hearty.

Cosy and charming

We booked a double room with a private Bath.  The room was huge, new and very clean. Enjoyed it really.   
Also the restaurant/bar is worth to test.  Good food and drinks for a fair price. The hosts are very friendly.  
The guesthouse and its surroundings with nice details. :)
Next time we will stay longer.  

Short but great stay in Ullensvang    

This sweet little place has just what you want with an extra bit of friendliness! We stayed for two nights, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast and good food. The service was great, and when we had to cancel our last night (due to the weather), this was no problem at all. We would highly recommend staying in Lofthus, and if you do, stay at Ullensvang Gjestheim :)

Cosy and very very friendly

Let's face it... This is not the place you want to stay in for more than a night... and even that might be too long. Rooms are tiny, and scrappy... Beds are bad. Linen and mattresses are stained. Several rooms have a shared bathroom and toilet. It's horrendous too... you almost feel dirty after using it. 
Breakfast and leaving was the best experience of this place. 
It should be under new management and a complete refurbishment, then it could be good. 
The surroundings on the other hand are amazing... but they can be experienced at another lodging. 

Location is all there is!

Stayed for one night in August to break up a long journey.  Good grief, the room was facing the road with direct eye level straight into the room from the road.  there was no sheer curtain so the option was to show it all to passerby pedestrians, or shut the curtain and have no natural light in an already dark small horrendous room.  The room was exactly the same as a poor single student's rented room in the poorest part of Britain.  Everything in the room was old and derelict.  there was a sink and not much else.  the space was so tiny that you really have to love the person who was sharing the space.  There were five or six guest rooms to share one bathroom with toilet.  The bathroom was bigger than the guest rooms.  There were a few wall chargers under the heater, which looked like a rescue from a junk yard.  The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows gave me a sore neck in morning.  The condition of the room was depressing.  Nobody paid with their hard earn cash should subject to sleep in such condition.

After reading the reviews here, we decided to try out the restaurant for dinner.  I had a Norwegian lamb with sausage and potatoes; partner had Thai green curry chicken with rice.  The Norwegian dish was liked some plain boiled meat covered in butter.  I have never had any Norwegian food before, was that really it?  I'm not impressed.  The Thai dish was just as bad, I'm more familiar with Thai food and no way it tasted so sweet that maybe the chef confused sugar with salt?  this restaurant was supposed to be the best in town?  Oh I forgot there was actually not much choice around, maybe it is the best of the worst.  The only good dish was the dessert, preserved plums with ice cream, which didn't involved any culinary skills.  We were served by the man of the house, suspected to be the owner, who was so miserable that a smile would hurt his face.  

Breakfast was the worst we had throughout our trip in Norway.  Needless to say more.  

Overall this was a poor b&b that won't stand a chance to stay in business, should it be in a different location.  I'd rather drive on to another town and stayed somewhere better.  

More like student's accommodation 

We drove from Bergen to Ullensvang with rain just about the entire way.  But who cares; it is a beautiful drive in any weather.  This is really a guest house and a family affair.  The service was warm, friendly and quite professional.  It is obvious that the staff take pride in their lovely establishment Our accommodations were perfect: a large room on the ground floor, a newly renovated bathroom and even an extra bed if we needed one. 
Our dinner and breakfast the next morning were first rate in quality, preparation and quantity.  We also found the guesthouse to be a bargain against other accommodations in the area, and the location is great for venturing out into the area.
