I took this photo from our balcony at Morgan Hotel shortly after our check-in (we were happy to be able to check-in at 8am! Had Nicaraguan breakfast on arrival: eggs, cheese, gallons pinto, coffee). We watched locals go swimming after entering the clear sea from the stairway off this grassy spot. 

We only spent one day on Big Corn, and Morgan Hotel was so well located. We took a photo of Morgan's map & she showed us the few areas it's not advised to walk (we walked EVERYWHERE else!). Morgan offered to drive us to the view point at Mirador/Soul of the World in the afternoon.  We'd've taken her up on it had it not rained at that time. 

There's a small store next door where you can buy water or a snack.  We walked to Sea Side Grill (15 min walk) for a wonderful dinner. 

We would stay at Morgan Hotel again!

Large Room, Good Value, Met all our needs

Loved the Morgan Hotel from the owner to the workers, to the quaint rooms...very delightful folks. Loved the twangy old country to the soca music that would start playing early in the morning till late evening, extremely joyous. Loved that all you need to do is cross the 2-lane road to sit on a little patch of grass to take in the beautiful breathtaking turquoise waters of the Caribbean. I advise you to wear or purchase polarized sunglasses if you don't already own a pair, to truly enjoy this breathtaking view of blue hues of the ocean. The food at the hotel is excellent, especially their black coffee with just a dash of sugar....rico, is all I can say!!!

The island itself is small and quiet, but enjoyable. There are places to go dance at during the night or just relax at your hotel. English is dominant on the island, so there won't be a language barrier.

Both my trips to the island was superb, I stayed there and ate there and the food is quite delicious...my experience!!! Enjoy your trip to this little island that mother nature has left for us to enjoy.  May it stay quaint, so its beauty remains.

Serene Trip with Mother Nature

We knew that we were staying at a hotel away from the tourist area but looking at the pictures on booking.com thought that it was a good choice.
Well it appears that booking.com uses a collection of pictures from various areas to make it look better than it is. We did get a room with an ocean view (which was the best part of the whole deal) but the outside screen door was held shut by a rusty latch and the inside of the room needed a real good sanding and painting. There was paint peeling everywhere. We slept on the bed closest to the window because my wife said if we were going to sleep in the other be "I needed to sleep by the thing growing on the wall"
We went out for supper and when we got back I saw that they were waiting for us to close the gate. I realized that we didn't have any water so I went for a walk to get some and they stayed at the gate to make sure we didn't get locked out. 
We didn't sleep that well because there was quite a bit of traffic on the road and about 3am the music started from down the road and it kept us up until the roosters and traffic started again. 
We went for breakfast the next morning and were told that they only served "Nicaraguan breakfast" of eggs and gallo pinto. So that's what we had. Like it or not.
But on the bright side, the service was good. lol

Not what I thought we booked

Room #5 is very tired and close to the road.  The beds were clean and made up every day.  The room was in bad need of a paint job and the electrical outlet RIGHT BESIDE the shower was a little concerning.

Three stars is generous

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Morgan for 3 nights. The room was great value, it was very spacious and we were pleasantly surprised with the air con and TV. The food is amazing and great value , we ended up eating there every night. Kelly and her family are really kind and we cannot thank them enough. 

Amazing value and friendly staff. 

Just ate at the restaurant didn’t stay at the hotel. Thought the portions were a really good size and the price was quite reasonable too. Flavor of the fillet of fish I had was really good. Nice quiet place with a great ocean view. Definitely recommended.
