We have stayed many times at this lovely post Art  Deco house.

The standard has never faltered from excellent. With two very well equipped and beautifully presented suites, a comfortable stay is guaranteed.  

There is a delightful pool and hot tub also a guest  BBQ

Consistently excellent

I stayed there with my partner and adult son in the two bedroom unit.
The second bedroom was connected to the first, only separated by a folding door. The one toilet was accessed through the second bedroom, so there was no privacy for the occupants of either room. There was a lovely fruit bowl, and had the weather been warmer, or the pool or spa filled ( both were empty) we could have made use of the ample picnic and trekking equipment available to guests. Nice surroundings, the owners have done a good job of renovating an old house.

To quote my husband..."that was probably the nicest room we've ever stayed in". Beautiful surroundings and lovely welcome. Full kitchen that would be perfect for longer stays. But my fave part would def have to be the in room sauna  :)

Beautiful room beautiful stay

Elderslea is in a central location in Upper Hutt and within walking distance of the city centre.  The rooms were very comfortable and clean and full of character - it felt like a home away from home and not as sterile as some motel rooms. The hosts were exemplary and only to happy to help with our requests for packaging materials for a fishing rod that simply would not fit in our suitcases.  The main room has a bedsit arrangement, there is no separate lounge. Would stay there again and highly recommend.
