what a little gem this place is. Outstanding service from Tanya running it. We got different slice/cake to eat each day. I put washing in and she hung it out and while we were out brought it all in and folded and left on chair outside our unit. Never ever had anything like that before. Rooms were nice and clean and comfy and had everything we needed. Motel is old but been well maintained. great value

We stayed 4 nights in Unit 6 very quiet at night, planes and helicopters flying over during the day didn't bother us. Enjoyed the fabulous cooking done by Tanya and delivered to our Unit 3 out of the four days (choc chip biscuits, sultana scones, savoury scones) each day the linen was replaced with clean towels etc; Handy to Takeaways across the road, also Dairy.... Bakery around the corner. Close to beaches & other attractions. 5* Service.

We made a late afternoon booking for the night. Arrived to a plate of delicious scones and friendly host.  Very roomy accommodation for 2 couples.  Truly a home away from home. Will make this my first stop when next in Nelson

Stayed in the two bedroom unit. Unit itself well presented, exceptionally comfortable beds. One tv with sky. Hot plate and microwave for cooking. Pool good with seating area. Also bbq area and washing/drying facilities. Real bonus was the back exit directly into the camp ground and beach front walk way. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Only slight issue is there is an upstairs unit who had workman staying which meant early starts for them and a bit of noise for us. Suggest earplugs for light sleepers. Will be going back next year 

Anchor Lodge is a wonderful, welcoming place to stay in Nelson.  It is a classic style family motel.  We had a studio room with a queen bed and a single.  The room was spacious and immaculately clean.   It had  a well equipped kitchen.   The warm welcome included a slice each of fresh, buttered date loaf....delightful.  Tanya has good local knowledge and nothing is too much trouble.  Free wifi and parking is available.  There is a guest laundry on site for a small fee.  The motel is 10 minutes drive from downtown.  Highly recommended.

We have stayed here before as it's good value at $100 a night and gsbdy to Nelson and Kaiteriteti etc.An older motel but it has everything you need. The owners are very friendly and helpful and when flowers were delivered for me they dropped them off with a vase to use. They go the extra mile for guests.Only a small block of motels so it's quiet and across the road is a fish and chip shop and a dairy. Tahunanui beach is a 20 minute walk away. Great location.
