On a backpacking budget but wanted to see this beach. Very happy with my stay at Ngapali Banyan. The dorm room is clean, comfortable, towels, nice ladders for beds and features like hooks, and shampoo are available. There are no lockers but safety was not a concern. Very large morning breakfast and the manager was super helpful with onward travel plans. This hostel is closer to the airport so the taxi ride was cheap. I also borrowed a hostel bike to go to the larger, main Ngapali beach. Would stay here again for sure.

Stayed at Banyan 1 for 5 nights. Cant vouch for Banyan 2. Recently built hotel to a good standard. A great alternative to the $200 hotels across the road. Friendly helpful staff and manager. 2 minute walk to the beach. Beautiful sunsets. Plenty of good fair priced restaurants in walking distance.

I looked online for the cheapest room available in Ngapali and found this guesthouse.  It is directly opposite the beach side of the main road heading towards Thandwe Airport.  The driver could not find it as there is no sign indicating the location which is off a side lane.  I used Google to find it.

The place is new and very clean. I might have been one of the first to stay in the room I booked.  Rooms have aircon and warmish water and the bed is reasonably comfortable.  There is free wifi which works well on the ground floor.  There is a simple free breakfast that is cooked in a clean kitchen.

Staff were super friendly and helped with directions to local restaurants.  Just a few minutes walk from Ngapali Beach. Good choice for budget travelers to Ngapali where the rooms are 5-10 times as expensive.

Hidden gem

Was very excited to arrive at Ngapali however on reaching the hostel I was disappointed to see that the dorm rooms were the size of broom cupboards.

However I was lucky enough to have a four bed dorm to myself and for the price per night, there is nothing else available. Breakfast was included which was good because in the area there were very few restaurant choices.

Being a beach bum though, I spent all day at the beach and only slept at the hostel so it's a good budget option. 

A little lonely down that end of town if traveling solo but found some hospitable restauranteurs for dinner and a chat in the evenings.

Bedding and rooms clean and there is air conditioning.

Ngapali had daily power cuts so bring a head torch!
