Hotel Maram

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who run this hotel. You only have to mention that something would make your life easier and they are escorting, booking, fixing or supplying whatever it is you need. They take time to talk to all their guests and frequently send pots of Moroccan mint tea up to your room. I have never experienced such personal service. Yes, this is a budget hotel. Tangier was cold and it rained every day for the whole 4 weeks I was there. However, I didn't want to pay for heating so was happy to make do with the massive supply of blankets and consistent supply of hot water. What I did need was very good wifi - and it is there in every room at Hotel Maram - with a router on every floor. It is also very clean - and cleaning staff will do your laundry overnight for a small fee. The location is fabulous - in the heart of the medina but near enough the waterfront to make walking or jogging there easy. This means, of course, that it is noisy - prayer calls, merchants, tourists and cats all contribute. I love it but not the place for you if you want quiet. There are no clubs here though. At night (except for the morning prayer call), it is quiet. Thank you for having me Mr Nourredin, Usama, Murad and Fatima. I will miss you.
