Riad Royal

From the moment we arrived to Meknes Medina I was beyond impressed with the hospitality of the staff. We were met in the carpark by Moha who runs the Riad, and he walked us the few minutes through the laneways of the Medina to the riad. Exceptional service. Entering the Riad Royal, we were immediately enraptured by the beauty of the riad, the mosaic tiling, intricate woodwork, stained glass and gorgeous traditional decor. I was again impressed when we were given immediate access to our rooms to freshen up before returning downstairs to have tea and register, most appreciated after a long day of driving. Rooms were clean and stunning, beautiful traditional decor, wonderful beds and the shower had nice pressure and immediate warm water (did not have to fiddle around with the tap trying to find that sweet spot between burning hot and freezing cold). Next was the rooftop terrace with amazing views plus there is a salon area which was perfect when it started to rain on our 2nd night. We were served a delicious kefta tajine on our first night. the breakfasts were more than plentiful and everything so fresh…fruits, selection of 3 breads with 5 different condiments and olives, Berber omelette, fresh juice, tea and coffee. We also needed to get a PCR test done prior to our flights, Moha found a clinic for us as it was a Sunday and came with us to ensure everything went smoothly. Moha and his colleague who are running this riad are doing an exceptional job, their passion for hospitality and friendly impeccable service was very apparent. We have had amazing stays all across Morocco for our month long travels and Riad Royal was the cherry on top…perfect ending to wonderfully amazing travels. Well done gentlemen, you are a credit to your industry.
