A lovely hotel on the edge of Chefchaouen. It was beautifully decorated - loved the traditional Berber vibe, but it still felt modern and quaint. The hotel terrace has a wonderful view of the mountains and they served a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff are very friendly - would highly recommend!

The hospitality at Dar El Rio was incredible. The owner, Mohamed Ali and all the staff were very warm, went out of their way to make my family comfortable (I was travelling with my parents and parents in-law who are all senior citizens) and were super attentive to their needs. It is rare to have such consideration extended and it was done effortlessly, with a smile. The breakfast was generous and excellent, served on the terrace with a stunning view. Recommendations for lunch and dinner were also spot on. Oh- and we all loved the playlist and the music in the reception. If you're looking for warmth, comfort and a feeling of being welcomed like family, Dar El Rio is the place to go to.

We stayed a night here on our guided tour of Morocco and had such a nice night. The staff was easily the best part of the stay. They were so kind, made the best recommendations, gave directions and just overall they were so hospitable. It was a quick 10 minute walk to the city. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was great and they had all the tv options including Netflix. The AC worked great and they had black out shades and curtains which made it so nice to sleep in a little! The wifi was strong and the rooms were so cute! What more could you ask for!!

What a great location very close to the Medina and the blue city colors.  Manager was super friendly and made sure everything was good.  View in the back is very nice from the rooftop.  Kind’a funky decor but we felt very comfortable.  There was also a nice restaurant right around the corner with a beautiful outdoor patio.

The hotel manager worked with me when I realized I booked the wrong days.   We got there and the error was all my fault. He made magic happen.   Breakfast was amazing also.  5 minute walk into the main Medina.  Great place to stay. Our kids room was off the lobby and it was too cute. Like a log cabin!

Beautiful hotel and rooms with spectacular views of the mountains and river. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and beautiful. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They let us store our bags after checkout so we could explore the city. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time at this hotel. Beautiful view, beautiful rooms and very nice staff ! High attention to detail and very colorful. Location was great, walkable to the most beautiful spots and close to everything. Thank you so much for having us as guests.

If you're going to be spending your days in Chefchaouen, be sure to spend your nights at the Dar Elrios. You won't find a better staff, better comfort, or better food anywhere in the Blue Pearl. We opened a bottle of wine and relaxed on the beautiful terrace, while watching the sun set - life doesn't get much better. Dar Elrios - we love you! Can't wait to see you again. . . Scott & Angela

Is one of the most complete rooms we’ve found in our trip across morroco, super beautiful view from the rooms to the mountain, the rooms have great bathrooms, tv, mini fridge so you can keep your drinks cold, and the staff is great they are super helpful and caring with all the guests! We enjoyed very much our stay there and we are very thankful with the staff

I stayed in many places around the world but I must say that Dar Elrio made it into my Top 5 favorite hotels.

The place has a unique brazilian vibe combined with the calmness that Chefchouen offers.

The personnel, even though they are not fluent in English or French they are so eager to help that they sometimes used Google translate to try to understand what we needed.

I believe that the fact that we were supposed to spend one night here and we ended up extending our stay with another one speaks for itself of how much we enjoyed our stay.

The communication with the hotel before our arrival, when we had an inconvenience by not being able to arrive for the first night,  was stunning. They changed our reservation without any problem.

The tiny room that we stayed in was a dream. It looks good in the pictures too, but trust me: is something that you haven’t seen before. It gave me the vibe of a tiny house combined with the cabin lodge feeling and the fact that we were able to see the mountain where the Spanish Mosque is located straight from our bed was a priceless view both by day and night.

The terrace is also spectacular and the views are breathtaking. 

The breakfast? OMG delicious! 

Also since our arrival we were offered tea and orange juice during our whole stay, and guess what? We didn’t had to pay for them.

Also at breakfast when we asked for more juice or other goodies, they happily served us.

We also met the owner in the last night. He is a very professional and passionate about his business. He even offered us a complimentary ride to the bus station at our departure.

Chefchouen was my favorite place in Morocco and without any doubt I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting and I’d for sure go back and stay here.

Now it makes sense why Elrio had so many positive reviews.
