Howlita Tulum is a little slice of paradise in the center of Tulum - indeed, the spacious rooms, beautiful landscaping, and peaceful atmosphere belie what one (fairly or unfairly) might expect from the surroundings. We opted not to stay in a resort and are so glad we didn't - Christian gave us personal treatment and was a warm and friendly presence throughout our stay, taking great pains to make sure we were comfortable. Upon seeing that my mom had trouble with the stairs, he was even kind enough to switch our room ASAP to make sure that issue was eliminated. And, he gave us amazing food recommendations which proved to be the highlights of our culinary experience. I would highly recommend staying here for as long as Christian runs the hotel.
