Really - I've been in hostels all over the world, this one is in my Top 10. Why : - The architecture is the first thing. Very nice from the inside, with this inside terrace, different levels, very spacy feeling. Then I would give a point for the interior design, which is just awesome. As well the big terrace, which can host more than one party at a time. Let's not forget, that it's very close to everything in the city center but at the same time very easy to get to bigger boulevard and get a bus or taxi. And the staff is awesome. They are so FRIENDLY.

What can be done better : Get showers in the rooms, together with the WC which is already there. i honestly can't think what else can be better. 

PS. The place is not noisy at all, as one of the other reviews is stating. This was a concern for me when I decided to go there, but it was nice and quiet exactly in the same dorm where this person had stayed (next to the common area). There are way noisier hostels.

In my Top 10 of hostels

Located in the center of San Luis Potosi, the manager is friendly and the rooms are what you expect for the price: clean and orderly but it's not a boutique hotel.

They have a kitchen and a roof to smoke and watch the skyline.

The place is pet and children friendly, just bear in mind this is near bars and noise.

Best price and location in town.

The hostel seems nice enough, but if you want a good night's sleep look somewhere else, we were very tired and ill so we booked a private room here, there were some people talking very loud and you can hear absolutely everything. There were some "rules" posted in the room stating to be quiet after 23:00 hours, when we asked to the night porter Eduardo  to please ask them to be quiet he very said in a very rude tone that they need not be quiet till 24:00. We found incredible that he was very hostile just because we wanted him to ask them to follow their own rules. We would have been fine if the porter had been a bit more polite.
If you want to rest book somewhere else


Very noise 

I found the hostel accidentally when i was walking around the city looking for a place to stay. I was very lucky to have found it and even if it was fully booked, Monika did her best to find me a bed to sleep. I immediately felt the hospitality and warmth of this place, everyone was very friendly and helped me  settle nicely in a shared room. 

The moment i started to get to know the staff and the inhabitants at the time I didn't want to leave! We had nice parties on the terrace,  family-like lunches in the kitchen and the amazing company of an awesome dog that i fell in love with. The rooms were very clean and the service overall was more than I would ever need. 

So if you consider yourself a social person with open perspectives and would like to make real friends in a foreign city, no matter if you are alone or not, I bet you will feel like home in Hikuri Eco Hostal and will definitely want to go back there! Love you guys!

An unexpected diamond in the center of the city!

Nice hostel that's well located.
Nice atmosphere and affordable.
I saw another review mentioning that it doesn't have heating, but no hostel does. And most houses don't either.
Really liked it and would definitely use it again if in town
