My wife and I stayed here June 2015 for our honeymoon. We had a spacious master suite with walkin closet. Clean and comfortable; an incredible value. We never needed air conditioning. It was great to talk with Caroline each morning about our plans for that day and get her perspective. She had helpful recommendations for us. Breakfast was very basic (toast, fruit, and tea) but a nice convenience to get the day started quickly. The place is in a good location, walking distance to nice restaurants and shops on Quinta Avenida and good, inexpensive, less-touristy places too. Caroline went out of her way to make our honeymoon special. I asked her to collect some local treats, sparkling wine, and flowers (at a price, of course) for our arrival and she was happy to. She also coordinated with a mobile massage service (Paradise Wellness, highly recommended) to make sure they could accomodate (do not expect this; it only worked out because we were the only occupants at the time). She also gave us shampoo even though I think we were supposed to bring our own. I think we were the first to stay at this location, so Caroline was still working some things out. Here are my recommendations for improving the place. Small things; none of them would prevent us from staying again. -A label on each key (gate, front door, room, safe, others?); there were quite a few -Get a better shower head; ours had some plugged holes -Protein (e.g. eggs or meat) would be a nice addition to breakfast Area Tips: —Scuba is great for beginners at Playa del Carmen —Alux restaurant, built in a dried-out cenote; at least get a drink there and walk around. —Order alhambra de el pastor con pina and queso fundido at taquerias that are full of mexicans (El Charro was great) —Eat a marquesita
