I had a great two stays here in January and in February. It ticked all the boxes for me …… and I’m very happy to recommend it to everyone, without reservation. 
Katy at the desk is incredible ….. she can’t do enough to help. 
Erick in the kitchen, is a legend, preparing  a great breakfast every morning ….. a lovely gent! 
Seydi keeps the rooms at top standard …. greeting everyone with a smile. 
Wren, Kellie and Jess were three lovely volunteers there during my second stay. 
In fact, all were very helpful. The only unfriendly person I met in Che was the night-man who was on duty the morning I left. I arrived at his desk at 1:45 am …… no hello, no smile…… all he said was, ‘Can I have your key’…… not even a thank you or a good bye. A smile and thank you goes a long way. 
However, all the other lovely people do Che very proud. Thank you, everyone.

My Stay at Che

Chilled Hostel, nice and clean, rooms are not so big, the toilette and shower was inside the room and the sink outside which was a little bit  annoying. Otherwise perfect for a few day stay and to stroll arround. The pool is chilled and you are allowed to bring in your own drinks. Bars, restaurants, plazas and so on are near by.

Good Base for excursions

One of the best hostel set ups I’ve stayed at. Incredible pool and social areas. We stayed in a private room which was really clean and had its own air conditioner (a life saver!). Great tour packages and event can be organised at the front desk. There is also an ATM in the foyer which is super handy as there aren’t too many out in the streets nearby. 

Great stay in a beautiful hostel 

Booked a private room in this hostel and was not disappointed. Very safe, no concerns with my belongings. Very central. Resident cat a winner- he’s an aggressive friender! Would recommend staying here for one or two nights comfortably!!!

Great hostel in Mérida with a great pool

The wife and I, 37 and 42 (she’s old) got a private room.  Very impressed! 
Clean with air condition. Very comforting.  The staff was always helpful and cool and nice. 

The younger crowd was always having a blast and mingling with a each other. If you’re wanting to experience a real life hostel experience, then here u go! 

They also made pizzas, cocktails classes, yoga , etc always cool stuff going on.

Real hostel experience!

I have a great time staying over here. The stay was fantastic and there are privacy in the 8-men dormitory as each bed have a curtain to cover from all angle. There was a swimming pool but I didn’t use it as I was spending more time exploring. I also saw them conducting yoga and salsa dance (I think). Yesmin the font desk receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. Location is also great and price was really cheap in my opinion. If this is not the best hostal in Merida, I am not sure what is. Highly recommended.

Most hip hostal in Merida

There is a lovely pool here, I heard someone stayed here that it used to be better before with activities and breakfast included, it was just missing that extra to make it special, close to eateries and attractions

Spent here 2 nights. The hostel has a no liquor policy which is reasonable but not really posted anywhere. Made the mistake of bringing a bottle of Tequila and was ejected as a result. This seems unnecessarily harsh given no guests were disrupted. Don't stay here if you enjoy drinking.

Great environment, unpleasant staff and management.

I stayed at Nomadas Hostel for 4 nights from March 3-7, 2020 as a solo traveler in the 8 bed female dorm. 

The dorm was comfortable and simple and had 4 metal bunks. The bottom bunks were all double beds and I lucked out with that! Each person had their own medium sized locker (locks were provided). The door to the dorm did not have a lock on it and I would have felt a little more secure if it had. Each bed had an outlet and reading lamp, but no privacy curtains. The other women in my dorm were all respectful and quiet, so no issues there, and I had a good sleep. The dorm had two washrooms just outside the room and there were showers in the larger female dorm next door and in a separate building near the pool as well. The showers in the large female dorm were clean and had consistent hot water. 

The hostel property was nice and there was an outdoor lounge area behind the reception building with tables and chairs, and some seating inside the reception area. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the property and there were multiple networks to connect to for different areas. The hostel also had a guest kitchen to cook your own food and a games room/lounge. There were different activities every day of the week with lots of opportunities to try new things or meet other people. There was salsa every evening, yoga classes in the mornings, cooking classes, and live trova music in the evenings. The salsa was really fun and yoga was relaxing. I also enjoyed the live music. 

The best part about this hostel though was the amazing outdoor pool! Merida is super HOT and it was so nice to go for a refreshing swim after a day of exploring in the heat. There were wooden lounge chairs (not the comfiest, but if you lay your towel on them, it's a little better) around the pool and hammocks hanging over the shallow end. I enjoyed relaxing here and it was very peaceful and lovely, with the pool being surrounded by lush jungle plants. It was like an oasis and it definitely didn't feel like you were in the middle of a bustling city. 

There was complimentary breakfast starting at 7 am which included fresh fruit (usually bananas and various others), eggs, beans, coffee/tea, and cereal. It was basic but good enough for me. 

The location of the hostel was on a fairly busy street about 6 blocks north of the main plaza/park. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the central area of Merida. The city overall was very easy to walk around and all of the main attractions are in the central area. Merida was a lovely city to explore and it was a great base for visiting ruins and cenotes in the surrounding area. There are lots of amazing day trips to take and the hostel provides an informational sheet with all the different things you can do and see. 

I have stayed at this hostel once in 2015 and enjoyed it so much that I returned again during this trip. Loved my experience here again and would recommend for those looking for a budget-friendly, comfortable, clean and relaxed hostel.

Comfortable Hostel with a Beautiful Pool and Relaxed Atmosphere

Pool,  friendly and helpful staff, yoga and salsa lessons, location and all inclusive breakfast are all a A+.      Great place to meet lots of new people from all over.   Would definitely go back here.  Highly recommended!!
