AX The Victoria Hotel

Our 4th visit to this beautiful hotel in the heart of Silema and it didn't disappoint. Amazing welcome from all the staff who remembered us from previous visits and welcomed us home. We travelled with our 2 teenage daughters and had rooms which were next to each other which meant they had some privacy and there was never a queue for the bathroom and well as giving them some independence. Our youngest has a severe food allergy and was catered for without any problems. The chef explained every evening what was safe to eat for her on the menu and if she didn't want any of that cooked especially for her. One waiter even suggested a dish which he knew would be safe for her to eat, it was made with no trouble and she loved it, even requesting it again for the following evening. We celebrated two big birthdays in the family whilst there and were thoroughly spoilt. Champagne for breakfast and birthday cake in the evening, with all staff in the dining room singing happy birthday. The hotel has an extremely high level of cleanliness throughout and all staff are extremely helpful and polite. There are three pools at the hotel, an indoor one, and two rooftop, one of which is in an adult only area. The main rooftop pool has recently been heated and it was a joy to swim in it in April when the sea is too cold for all but the most harden swimmers. There was always space around the pools and towels were provided. The hotel is located away from the main waterfront, which is only a 5 minute walk away and is therefore in a quieter location but still within easy reach of all the local attractions.
