We came there very tired. The service changed the room and made the best rest time for us. We had amazing room with balcony and beautiful view to river. The room where clean adn beautiful, we got a good night sleep there. I will visit Bauska and Hotel Viona another time. 

The best choise in Bauska

The hotel/inn seemed very new, the rooms were clean and in good shape, we got a good nights sleep there and the rooms had lovely views. 
Attached to the hotel is a small restaurant that was very cheap and cozy.
The service was very sweet, though they did not speak a word of english, we managed pretty well.
Bauska as a village/town was very cute and cosy, we didn't see much as we were just passing through, but I will visit Bauska and Hotel Viona another time.

The hotel looks a new. Room was nice with a look to river. In the evening can drink some coctails on terase in the hotel. Only 4-5 min with foot can see a old city. And breakfast was so delicios. Very noce place with nice adminiatration 

Beautiful

The hotel reminded me of an Inn or a Pub with sleeping accommodations in other countries.   There was nobody staffing the check-in area but I just popped into the bar/restaurant area next door and was warmly welcomed by the woman working there who spoke enough English for us to communicate fairly well.  We had booked a family room and were eventually shown to one with a separate bedroom and a kitchenette (a fridge and sink, at least) and living room area.   It was quite warm when we got to the room, no AC, but after we opened the windows it was more comfortable.  The room was quite modern and good value for the money. The one downside of this particular room was that it was adjacent to the neighbour's laneway, with a dog that barked quite a bit, so if you had the windows open overnight it could be a problem.

There weren't many choices in town for meals, so we ended up eating dinner at the hotel and it was very good and very reasonable.   We had grilled chicken thighs (done on the patio BBQ) and it was some of the best grilled chicken I'd had in years, and was served with potatoes and salad for under 7 Euro.  We asked about breakfast for the following morning and the same pleasant lady asked us what time we wanted it and was there with everything ready the next morning.

It was a different experience from the other, mainly large hotels we stayed at in the Baltics, but it was a very positive one and I was impressed with the friendly, can-do attitude of the woman with whom we interacted.

BTW, there is free, gated parking around back.
