Hiratakan, located @ Hirayu Onsen we experienced the best ryokan. The check-in process was smooth. The room was super clean with great amenities. Hirataken is located 200 meter from the bus stand to Kamikochi. We were hiking Mt Hotakadake the next morning and the gentleman very kindly asked us to park our car at the hotel. We explored Hirayu in the evening and it was beautiful with free public onsens everywhere. In fact there is one onsen right opposite to Hirataken and we dipped our tired feet the next day after we finished our Mt Hotaka hike and it was so relaxing.
We loved our stay at Hirataken and would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

One of the best Rokyon experience

We originally booked another hotel which upon arrival was closed down. With nowhere to go we had gotten a room here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It included breakfast which was very delicious. The room was clean. It was a little old but the service was amazing.  The manager even gave us little good luck charms to take when we left. I would definitely recommend staying here. 

After a big mix up I left happy.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Hirayu, not far from the bus station. The room Was very spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The Japanese breakfast was a new rewarding experience for us.The owners were extremely helpful, forthcoming and hospitable. 

Very pleasant hotel

We stayed here for 1 night at a room with private onsen. The room is very spacious and comfy, and dinner was served inside our room. We planned to go to Kamikochi the next morning but the weather was bad. The owner, Mr. Hirata, told us the weather should be better the day after and he offered us free parking if we come back again. So we slightly swapped our itinerary and made our trip to Kamikochi. Thanks for Mr Hirata's great hospitality and we really missed this place ! One more thing to note, they had a small souvenir (sarubobo with hotel name on it) for us as well !

Tranquil place and very nice owner

We wanted calm, authenticity and cheap price. From these aspect, Hiratakan didn't disappoint. 
Nice staff, quiet, nice hot spring... all fine. But nothing more. No treat, no extra service, no available dinner or breakfast... just what you would expect.
Quite difficult to find: get a good GPS or ask for your way.

Quiet and relaxing

We picked this place as it is close to the ski grounds around Hirayu.  The room size is particularly good and the service is somewhat good too.  We have a half board plan but the  meals are not particularly impressive given so many better experience elsewhere. The onsen and other facilities are below expectation and we ended up to visit the nearby Hirayu-no-mori which have 16 onsen pools.  This hotel however offer a discount ticket for this.  The telephone in room is not capable of making external calls though it claims to be able.
