This ryokan (Japanese style hotel) was not bad but just didn’t have anything special that makes me feel I’d like to go back or I would like to recommend.  I would probably not go back.

PROS:
- They accommodated vegetarian meals.  There are ryokans that don’t do, so I’m grateful that they did that.
- The big bathtub in the room was nice.  It was supposed to be “roten buro” which means an open air bath, but it was actually in-door bathroom with big windows that can be opened.  After opening the windows, I was able to see the ocean far away, but since there are buildings and houses in-between, the view was not so spectacular.  But still the deep and big tub felt nice.
- Staff was friendly.

CONS:
- Seafood was disappointing.  Since Ise-ebi (Japanese lobster) was in season, I chose the dinner option that includes Ise-ebi sashimi and live abalone.  But both didn’t taste special.
- They don’t take credit card.  I used a booking site Jalan to make a reservation. Probably because my credit card is issued in the US, Jalan didn’t accept it, which is not this ryokan’s fault. There was an option to pay at the ryokan, but this ryokan only accepts cash.  The bill was going to be about $800 for 3 people.  So, it was quite a lot to carry with me.
- This onset town is remote enough but doesn’t have much to see.
