570 reviewsI have just arrived home after a great weekend in Venice staying at the Hotel Anastasia in the San Marco sestiere. The hotel is hidden away in a quiet square behind its sister hotel where the reception and breakfast room are located. The breakfast buffet is really delicious, lots of choice of hot and cold food, fresh fruits, fruit juices, cheese and meats, breads and croissants and freshly made pancakes as well! The staff were constantly replenishing the food and drinks on offer. They are also very helpful if you need any information about the city. Our bedroom was narrow but had two big windows. I was pleasantly surprised to find a safe, mini fridge and tea making facilities in the room. The large tiled bathroom was spotlessly clean with toiletries supplied and clean towels every day. The hotel is next to a Gondola station and just round the corner from the San Marco Vaporetti stops allowing easy travel from the bus and train stations and to the islands in the lagoon or anywhere on the Grand Canal. The hotel is in an area full of designer shops and not far from San Marco and Palazzo Ducale but it’s location meant it was quiet at night. This hotel is in a great location near plenty of restaurants and bars and within easy walking distance of almost all of the city. I would definitely stay here if I ever visit Venice again.
