Hotel Ripa Roma

Both my wife and I had a great time at the Hotel Ripa in Trastevere (Rome), while attending the Rome Tennis Masters at the Foro Italico. OK it’s not in the Parioli neighbourhood, but it’s just a 10 minute walk to the centre of the buzzing eating/drinking area, that Trastevere is famous for. The nearby speedy transport to the centre of Roman Rome is unmatched - just pick up the No 8 or 3 electric Tram, the best €1.5 you’ll spend in Italy; Tap & Go - Google it; to realise the full benefit. The hotel itself has a fun, quirky style - a salute to both Kubrick (not Spartacus) and Tim Burton - you’ll see :)) not too “off the wall” Oh! and that is curved in the breakfast room :)) Make sure that you include breakfast in your booking - an extravagant buffet with foodstuff for every morning appetite - just fill your boots for your daily march on Rome. Our room was pretty big and comfortable with it’s own balcony - cool area in the evening to sit with your tablet or phone, but no real view. Housekeeping were unobtrusive and very friendly, in fact every member of staff were accommodating and helpful. Pre dinner, the bar sets up “nibbles” for guests with a well stocked bar - we were recommended to try the very dry Franciacorta - it works!
