We first visited Panoramapension Etschblick in 2011 and have been back at least once a year ever since. Make no mistake, this is not a five star hotel with swimmingpool, sauna and several restaurants. It is actually a little worn out and only accessible by a narrow road. But it has something that you don't find anywhere else. It offers spectacular views over the valley and mountains between Bolzano and Merano. The hotel is located just opposite the cable car to Vilpian (in the valley) and next to the bus stop for the small shuttle bus that runs between Jenesien and Falzeben. It means that you have access to the entire area around Bolzano and Meran without the need for using your own car. You can even get to and from the place with public transportation if needed. Hannelore, who owns and run the hotel, is also a talented chef and the evening meal is always something to look forward to. Her two kids (Jana and Elia) are very cute and fun to have a chat with. We are big fans of Panoramapension Etschblick and hope to be back again very soon.
