As his fans know, Shah loves both comfort and convenience. And that’s the split that gives this place a mixed review.

On the plus side, this is a very lovely place where the rooms are nicely adorned. Someone has taken very good care to ensure you feel right at home, from the decorations, to the linens, to the layout, and to the nice (and relatively large by European standards) bathroom. There is no doubt that the owners went out of their way to make this a distinctive staying experience.

On the minus side, this is not a hotel but a guesthouse, and therfore you do not have all the conveniences that come with a hotel. In fact, in our two days there, we didn’t see anyone at the front office. We received a code to get into the place and the key was left on the door.

The biggest drawback however is that the place has a very late check in time (6 pm) and yet a very early check out time (8 am). So if these times cohere with your plans, then that is fine, but Shah found it to be very restrictive. If you need to check in earlier, then that will be done as a favour to you, as Shah was told.

If you are traveling on business and need a comfortable place to stay, then go for this place. It is about 1 km from the station. If you are there on vacation (La Spezia is after all a great base for Cinque Terre), then Shah strongly suggests any of the hotels closer to the station. I’m not sure of the comfort there, but you will certainly have the convenience of being closer to the station to make your CT trips and also getting all the amenities of a true hotel.

Shah says: Give this place a pass, unless you are ok with the restrictions noted above.

Shah’s tip: Yes CT is great, but do not miss Portovenere. It’s really quite amazing. Go there and you will see. You can catch a bus from La Spezia (2.5 euro; tickets can be purchased at the train station Info office). Then take a boat from there to any of the CT towns (except Corniglia). You get a nice view from the water and then you can go back and forth via train (which is amazingly convenient).

Not a hotel so beware of restrictions

Owner was awesome ! Good location and nice room. Air conditioning is next level stuff! The soundproofing isnt that great and you can hear people next door.

The accommodation is located in a cozy building close to the port and 750 m from the train station (9 minutes on foot). It is perfect for taking the train if you want to visit the Cinque Terre Natural Park.

Very good value for money

We were on a romantic trip to Italy and chose this accommodation because of the good reviews and the jacuzzi. Nothing was exaggeration! Massimo is an excellent host and he gives nice advises. The room is romantic, bed is good and air conditioning is perfect for the hot weathers.

Home away from home

We stayed two nights in the Provenzale room at Sweet Dreams, and there was absolutely nothing to blame, it was perfect. The room is spacious, quiet to the back of the building, air-conditioned, the bedding is large and the mattresses of very good quality. The cleanliness is impeccable and the jacuzzi are two places to the bathroom... A good day after a good day!

Nice room, welcome to the top!

First of all, thank you both Maximo and Cinzia. for all the commitment that they made me make a very big figure with my partner, for our 5 years... A great nice weekend, spent in total simplicity and love, we toured the whole spice since we are from Genoa, we wanted to visit around, and they left us all the comforts is mostly they booked almost everything, a nice Saturday night spent among everything that includes the spice, Camera Details: Perfect, with excellent cleaning, it is the fantastic Jacuzzi. They are important details! We were appreciated and mostly served for real.

It's a great mini weekend.

Such a cute little place to stay, like new and spotless but so cozy. The owner was great. Location was perfect to use the train and head to Cinque Terre and LaSpezia was charming. Do not hesitate to book

Great spot !

What to say...we were welcomed in the best way, cheerful, followed. Cinzia and Maximo never made us feel like simple customers but almost family people. The location is wonderful. It is located on the upstairs floor of an old well-kept building very close to the city center and not far from the train station, so very convenient for every move. A few steps away there is a free parking lot. It has 4 rooms, 1 of which is larger with a hot tub. Excellent cleaning. Everything works perfectly. Very cozy shabby chic style environment. The owners are very available. Very recommended!!

Top, top, top!

We stayed only one night... but what to say exceptional room with the smallest details, excellent cleaning... a beautiful hot tub for relaxing!!!!!! Not to mention the simply delicious owners... super attentive to your every need is available. Close to the center very conveniently... we will definitely be back!!!!thanks 🙏

A touch of water

We stayed in La Spezia for a weekend and we stayed in the room Provenzale which is simply wonderful, very clean and very neat in every detail. The owners are really two exquisite people, very kind, available and super nice! They gave us very useful tips for our stay. Both the structure and the owners make you feel at home!
