Villa Pierott

We have stayed here for nearly two weeks. There are two spacious bedrooms and a large communal sitting room and kitchen with two separate bathroom / toilets. The kitchen is well equipped with a good size fridge and table for at least 6 persons. Two settees in the sitting room with on line TV, mostly Italian channels with two BBC, however the Internet link ( download speed 1.6 to 6.0 mb/s) is sufficiently fast for programmes which allow viewing of UK channels e.g. View Tv Abroad < £7 /month. Good mobile signal. The beds are comfortable and with the shutters closed, absolute darkness, a real bonus for light sleepers like me. Unusually for Italy enough spare sockets to power up all your gizmos (currently four in our case). Bathrooms well lit , with no shortage of hot water for shower. Twenty minute cycle ride it Lucca and local restaurants are less e.g. La Cecca or Michelone for those who like to drink beyond the legal limit for driving!!. The host Dina is very helpful. Large pool in well maintained garden. They do their own table wine of which we found the white very pleasant and Giaini the father distils his own grappa for which you may be afforded a tasting (Italian required for this !!). This is the first apartment in some years that we hope to return to and can also recommend the Villa Marta Hotel about ten minutes away which have stayed in many times over the past ten years
