A home from home, our third visit here in two years. We now look forward to seeing the super friendly owners as much as the Lodge and surroundings. BBQ Lodge is a recently renovated villa perfect for up to 10 people; owners who go out of their way to look after you; luscious breakfasts laid out on the terrace; amazing views; green surroundings; immediate access to the Portofino National Park with plenty of short and long walks to explore; 15 mins walk to the sea and Camogli; a scooter ride to Portofino; canoeing to Punta Chiappa....

A very happy place to spend a long weekend with friends or family

The host is a  very gentleman.You can fell like at home. Fine forniture & food.
Not to far away from the parking. At the beginnings of the path to Portofino park. Pleasure in very  big garden. Rooms very clean.

I came here with my son on the way back from San Rocco to Camogli. Very nice people who provided excellent and quick service. A great stop-off point on the lovely walk down the Riviera coast line. Many thanks! 

Brilliant place!

It was now the 3rd time we stayed at bbqLodge for a whole week.
August 2014 - a few months after opening - was our first stay. Since then it was clearly decided that if I celebrate my 60th then there. 15 friends came, we booked all rooms and had a fantastic aperitivo and then at night a creative and delicious bbq - prepared by the bbq lodge ragazze.
None of us will forget this in lifetime. 
bbq Lodge, the good place, the housing, the atmosphere, the sensitivity how it’s decorated and especially the warm hearted team is our ideal hide away when necessary to breath relaxed.
We feel at home and we got friends there.

The BBQ is the ideal base-camp both for those trekking the surrounding paths-net and for those travelling through the coast looking for an idyllic and quiet place. 
It's about 20min walk from Camogli railway station, about 4 minutes from San Rocco, along the path connecting Camogli to San Rocco, an easy path climbing through the olive terraces, fields and a stream absolutely easy with backpack, although I wouldn 't recommend it with trolleys or heavy luggage.
The old house has been nicely refurbished, with great care to traditional local masonry. 6 Rooms furnished with modern-antiques pieces from the 20's-30's, books, interesting lamps and objects here and there, thus creating a quiet special warm atmosphere. Comfortable beds, each room with a  clean and modern bathroom. Windows overlook either the valley below or the gardens. Total silence at night make the place absolutely special. A paradise for birdwatchers, as with a few minutes walk along the path towards Batterie one can easily spot the peregrine falcon nesting on along the high coastal rocks. 
Breakfast is rich and genuine, basically sweet ( no cheese or hams), abundant, nicely served indoors or in the garden..
Facilities at walking distance: a bakery in San Rocco selling basic excellent ingredients to make a packed-lunch. 2 trattoria, both very good, one small general store further towards Ruta.  Excellent wi-fi signal in and out of the building.The host is a communicative and extremely nice person.

Ideal base-camp in a splendid and quiet unique spot

This is one of the greates places I stayed at on all my travels. The people who looked after the B&B during my stay were the most hospitable people I met, they really looked after me and it felt like coming back home in the evenings. 

The place itself is great if you are looking for some quiet days in the countryside: its a few stairs down from San Rocco and a lot more stairs up from Camogli. Keep this in mind as you also have to carry your luggage;) There is a lush surrounding with nice places in the garden to chill and read and the view is fantastic.

The building is furnished in a cosy way and even the single rooms are nice with a great view. The breakfast is yummy with a lot of fruits, fresh bread and pastry from the local bakery and home-made jam. 

I will be back for sure:)

Your home away from home

An fantasy quiet place only reachable by foot, about 150 meter walking from S.Rocca. High on the hill with an fantastic view over Camogli. Very good service and a wonderful breakfast. A place to return of we are in the area.

Fantastic place

This is just the most lovely place to stay if you are in Italy for an unpretentious and authentic experience. It'll be quite a climb up a fair few steps from the town of Camogli (which we didn't actually have time to visit in our very short stay), but that's what makes it fantastic. You're in the best location for starting out on the local trails along the coast or up into the hills, and you have an amazing view over the bay from the room. Or at least from the very tasteful terrace outside the house if you're on the ground floor, where I suppose the view might be a bit more limited. So maybe try to ask for one of the upstairs rooms if you can.

And then the vibe of the place is just like you're staying with a family and their friends. We were there on a Saturday night, so several friends of the owners were there for dinner. They happily shared their food with us, including some sea snails, which are apparently the local thing. It was exactly like how you expect Italy to be.

Quite a few of the guys there speak decent English, so no worries on that score, but I was there with my Italian GF, therefore trying to practise my Italian as much as possible. My GF loves Camogli and BBQ Lodge in particular, so I assume that - all being well between us - I'll be going back soon, and looking forward to seeing a bit more of the place next time!
