Best breakfast in Ireland! Even the coffee was perfect. Such a quaint house. A glimpse into a proper town dwelling on the wild Atlantic way. Des is very friendly and the place is spotless. Would visit again. Loved Clifden. Such friendly folks. Very helpful.

The warmest of family welcomes in this B and B. If you are looking for a traditional, old Irish welcome with stories and wonderful food this is the place for you. Immaculately clean and a comfy night’s sleep. Thank you Eileen and Des for looking after us so beautifully. This is a lovely guest house. We stayed for three nights while touring the area on motorbikes. The great welcome which we received from Des and the unlimited local advice was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and clean, we had fresh towels every day and the breakfast was brilliant. Attention to detail was exceptional. If we’re in the area again we would certainly come back. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this charming guest house. The hosts Eileen and Desmond made us feel like visiting relatives their welcome was so genuine.  The breakfast was absolutely second to none and the location is also ideal.  We will definitely return when next in the area.

Excellent service, breakfast, willing to go the extra mile for food intolerant people. Good clean rooms, good homely decor and a host who nothing is a bother to help you with. Would recommend and their many rewards are well deserved. Thank you.

A true Irish bed and breakfast run for 97 years by the same family. What a breath of fresh air Desmond is. A true friend in a matter of minutes. He loves his work and it shows. The Irish friendship highlight of our trip and the best breakfast out of our many in Ireland. Clean and well maintained with so many antiques. Stay here for a true Irish feeling.

Comfortable and quaint accommodation run by wonderful people, nothing was too much trouble. I have travelled for work for the last 30 years and I don’t remember having a nicer breakfast. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious!

Ben View House was beyond expectations. The warmth & friendliness of the hosts made every minute worthwhile. Breakfast was beautifully presented in the old family dining room with original crockery etc. The food was perfectly cooked. Desmond gave of his time to inform us of where to go & what to do in the area.
We also left a couple of items behind, & realised when we got to Galway. These items were promptly delivered to us - we are so grateful!

Great location in the centre of clifden. Des is a fantastic host very knowledgeable about the area. One of the best presented tasty breakfast ever. Nice comfortable bed. The dinning room has a variety of amazing crockery.

The Ben View House was far and above the best accommodations we have had in Ireland outside of the home we were given to use. There were three beds, a spacious bathroom, and lots of electrical outlets. The coffee maker was also handy.
The large and small Irish breakfast was almost spectacular in its generosity and was served with a smile. I also liked that there were tables for more than two people.
Our host was super charming and his hospitality was very gratifying. When we arrived early, he helped me set up my MacBook Pro in a sitting area and stayed there until everyone was satisfied with the wifi. I was able to use the window box for my computer with no issues.
the Ben View is located next to the two main streets and is close to shops, pubs, and restaurants.
