Homeleigh Farmhouse

We have just had a very enjoyable 4 night stay at Homeleigh Farm.Carmel & John are wonderful hosts & nothing is too much trouble.The Irish breakfasts are amazing & Carmel also provides strawberries & blueberries as well as cereals,toast & soda bread. If you want luxury & top hotel amenities this isn't for you but for clean,comfortable accommodation in the most spectacular scenery then please visit this lovely home!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this homely B&B while doing some hiking in the Galtees. Our friendly hosts, John and Carmel, gave us a warm welcome, including a lovely home cooked dinner by an open fire. Breakfast was delicious and we left bearing gifts of home made chutney and cooking apples. Truly authentic farmhouse hospitality.

Traveling with sister and friend, the 3 of us truly enjoyed evening at B&B. We had actually been directed to place, due to B&B we had originally stayed at was booked. We were very warmly greated by Carmel and John. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We found the room to be plenty large for 3 guests and beds were comfortable as well. Carmel actually called local restaurant and made dinner reservation for us. It may not have been the  fanciest place we had stayed during our vacation, but the atmosphere in this home they have shared for 40 years was untouchable. Carmel took our breakfast request and it was delicious.  They actually have fresh mushrooms in yard, so they cooked them up for us also. Amazing. Cant say enough about host / hostess. If you ever get near Glen of Aherlow,  tipperarly,  Ireland, please check this place out. Home sits alone surrounded by nothing but fields of green. You won't be disappointed.  Truly enjoyed, Traveling girls from Iowa, USA.

Carmel was so caring when we arrived late and exhausted.  She set us up in the dining area in front of a wonderful fire and served us a tray of crackers, cheese and fruit(we had our own wine). She even started some soothing music so we could relax and enjoy. Would love to go back when we had more time to take advantage of the activities close by.

Evening snack by fire

I must start with the positives as "average" seems a very tight score for the amazing hospitality and welcome we received, Carmel & John were lovely and friendly.  Our room was very clean and the towels were changed after every use.  The refreshment tray was topped up regularly and there was an additional heater in the room in case we felt cold.
However the room was tired with 80's décor & mismatched furniture. Our en-suite didn't have a sink in so you had to walk through the bedroom to wash your hands as the only hand basin was by the door. The windows were all single glazed which meant a lot of condensation built up overnight and noise could be heard from the other rooms. 
That said our breakfasts were lovely, especially the great home-made brown bread, the location is beautiful and we spent a warm, comfortable stay here.

A little tired but unparalled hospitality.

Unfortunately not what I expected , dated , poor facilities , poorly maintained .
Expensive evening meal , utter confusion over what was required & available for Breakfast .All in all not an overly great experience
