Location is good, very close to Assi Ghat. Hotel owner is friendly. We asked some advice how to spend 2 days in Varanasi, but he just replied "ask some other guests", so this was a bit strange. Breakfast is served rather late (from 9 AM onwards).
 
But... There are no bed sheets provided, only blankets. Me and my partner used 2 different blankets, I had horrible bed bugs bites after staying here (> 100). My partner did not have any.

We chose Banaras guest house based on the price and location. Later we learned that was the best choice we could have made.
The guest house is really simple and mimics the feeling of Varanasi. We had few plans but thanks to Navi we could manage our trip much better and meet places we would not to, for example, the boat trip at 5am was amazing.  
Although it was really hot and humid, our bedroom had A/C which really helped to relax when need to. 
We really enjoyed the terrace while having breakfast and just chatting with each other. 

In the end, if you are travelling alone or even with friends, and want to meet nice people and see as much as you can, I highly recommend Banaras Guest house.

Overall a really great experience 

If you are looking for a great place to stay next to Assi Ghat and have easy access to your guesthouse with your bags, Banaras guest house is the perfect choice. 

It is a minute walk from the road which has full access to cars and rickshaws. 
3 minutes walk from Assi Ghat , so you can wake up and quickly get before sunrise to watch the arti and then hop on a boat and see the Ganges wakes up. 

The guesthouse itself is beautiful with paintings on all the walls. It is very clean with comfortable beds and hot water is available from the biggest geyser I've seen in India. Enough to wash your hair and still have hot water to shower!

And the bonus of it all is Naveen and Krishna. They are so sweet and kind. They really care for their guests and do everything with so much love. It is felt in the appearance and cleanliness of the guesthouse and in their hospitality. 

They can take care of taxis, boat or walking tours, laundry and make you a great breakfast. 

Note that there is noise from the road as in Varanasi they love to honk more than anywhere else in India. But Varanasi is so chaotic, so even if you stay in places further away from the main roads, there will always be noise. For me, this was the perfect place to stay. 



A perfect place to stay in Varanasi 

We used this as our base whilst staying 5 nights in Varanasi.  Krishna and Naveen did so much to share their local knowledge, and organised guided tours for us.  They even helped us find working ATM (Krishna took me on his own motorbike) and ordered out for us when we regularly used their rooftop terrace for food and beers of an evening. They are proud of their business, and were in the process of adding more rooms to the guest house, which is right in the mix of local life and within walking distance of the Ganges. Recommend them as good friendly people who will definitely look after you during your stay.

Great Guest House Great Owners

It’s a nice guest house near assi ghat . Stayed here for two nights with a friend , the hospitality was wonderful . The owners really took extra care to make all the necessary arrangements including boat rides , auto rides and airport drops . The location is superb , very close to assi ghat yet on the quieter side of the road . 

Would recommend this place for its value pricing , hospitality and if you’re travelling with friends .

Affordable place near assi ghat

Me and my husband visited Banaras for holidays and we're trying to find a good decent guest house and there we found Banaras Paying Guest house near Assi ghat as we wanted stay to be near ghat.
Mr. Naveen who was the host was helpful and good. The place was neat and clean and he himself kept it clean.
The little inconvenience I felt that it lies a bit in gali. Rest it was a good experience staying there.

Visiting Banaras paying guest house..

A friend and I had a two-day/one-night stopover in Varanasi.  Before our arrival, we had only planned to see the evening aarti by the Ganges and walk around the city.  

However, Krishna really helped us make the most of our short stay. The evening we arrived Krishna personally took us to see the evening aarti ceremony, to his friend's gift shop so that we could pick up a special gift for a friend who is expecting a baby and who we had plans to meet a few days following, and to dinner in his friend's restaurant for great company and conversation. 

He then planned a full agenda for the following day to allow us to see the city and traditions. We ended up going for an early morning boat tour to see the sunrise over the Ganges, had a homemade breakfast on the roof terrace at the Guest House, a walking tour of the city and temples (a real local look at the city and the people) ... all before leaving for the airport in the afternoon. 

What we expected to be a quick stopover turned out to be a memorable highlight of our trip.  I'd highly recommend going to see Krishna and Naveen. They are great people.

Krishna and Naveen are wonderful hosts who care deeply about their guest's experience in Varanasi.

Banaras Paying Guesthouse is a family-run business by Krishna, his brother, sister and his parents. They all are lovely and helped us in many ways. They made everything to make us comfortable. The rooms are simple but cosy with open shelves to put your stuffs on (which makes a difference comparing to other hostels). You need to remove your shoes when entering the building so the floor is clean everywhere. We especially liked the rooftop. We spent many mornings, afternoons and evenings there, chilling and reading away from the streets' noise. I recommend the place.

It has a great experience in this restaurant . In that you can eat many dishes and tasty meal. Please visit that place and make fun according to you. Please done a trip to this restaurant by which is a good experience.

My first travel to Varanasi made me quiet excited. Varanasi is a city with special story and history. My unplanned arriving at the guest house was great. Naveen made me feel like home straight away. I had dinner on the comfy roof top and met the other people. An amazing fusion of people. Naveen and Krishna are always around making everybody feel good. Shared moments on the rooftop or showing you around. Thank you for this amazing stay. Rooms are clean and they will help u with anything u will ask for. See you soon.
