We spent 2 days here in Paradise on Dal Lake.
The houseboats were superb and we were able to see them all with Noor the owner.
Our boat had only 2 bedrooms so was very private.
The boat was super clean and well maimtained and was from the British era so was very authentic.
Good bathroom and fabulous matress meant we slept well.
Ate their home cooked food and it was delicious as was the Kashmiri tea.
The staff were excellent and very helpful .We loved our stay and highly recommend it to westerners as it is right up to western standards unlike many places in India.

Best Houseboats in Srinagar

Great place to stay with really friendly hosts. And the food is just awesome. Highly recommend for your stay on Dal lake. The view is to die for once the clouds break.

Amazing houseboat in Dal Lake

This is a family business of long standing.  As such, the hosts have huge experience of looking after their guests, and understanding what their needs will be, depending on the time of year they are visiting.  They are also excellent guides on their city and surrounds, and arrange very interesting days out for guests, taking into account their ages and requirements.

The home-cooked food is excellent, hot and provided quite quickly.  The houseboat is well-heated during cold weather, and finally, the hosts of these houseboats really care about the welfare of their guests.

Nice place ,I would say they planned my trip in a great way ,had good food ,we ordered some chicken biryani taste was yummy ,good location and heating facility was amazing, rooms were cozy , would recommend this place ,will come back in summers 😊

Hello Umer .. Thank you very much for your outstanding and prompt  services ..House boat was excellent and very neat and recieved very good care by your team. I was skeptical as my in laws were coming alone .. but was also rest assured coz u were there to handle.. they had a great time and enjoyed their tour to Kashmir very much. Beautiful houseboat

We stayed at this houseboat as part of our Kashmir Trip for a night to witness the experience of living in a wooden boat. It was a good opportunity to enjoy and we loved our stay. A caution for those who may have stayed in houseboats at other places (Alleppy, Sundarbans, Vietnam - Halong Bay, etc.) is that these are stationary boats that provide the accommodation. They do not move from their place like a cruise. Below are some additional insights:

1. Location - This houseboat is located towards the back of the dal lake which makes it a good place to be away from the hustle of the city. There are 3/4 boats tugged together.

2. Accommodation - Rooms are decent and functional with all facilities you may need for a good stay. Do not assume luxury but basic requirements are fulfilled. The cleanliness is good but not outstanding (if you are one of those!)

3. Food - We had opted for breakfast and dinner on board and were pretty satisfied with what was offered. The meals are simple affairs but are good and give a local flavor to your tastebuds. Morning tea is complimentary as well.

4. Service and Hospitality - We loved the hospitality and the staff was always on toes to help out. They serve with a smile and are happy to engage in l right banter if you are inclined. Some of the suggestions we received from the host for the remaining part of the trip were really useful.

5. Others - This is a good experience and should be tried if you are in Srinagar. There are shikara rides into the Dal Lake which the host can arrange. The shikara ride from and to the shore is free for check-in and check-out. 

A wonderful experience living on a wooden boat

First of all you are restricted to majority of the things. You can’t have dinner after 10pm no furnace allowed after 10pm. You can’t have food in your rooms. You need to be present at the dinner table for food. Me and my friends were still drinking and the people who looked after the place started forcing us to turn off the lights even after we booked the entire house boat.
