My wife and I had the most marvelous experience with Mr. Dicky Singh and Ranthambore Bagh.  We did seven safaris and in four of the seven, we saw tigers; in three we saw tigers within 100 feet.  Tigers are the most majestic and beautiful animals. (We have been to Africa before).  Our naturalist was RK (Mr. Ramkrishna) who was great in guiding us to wildlife, and we had excellent conversations.  We spent some time with Mr. Dicky Singh during the evening drinks; he gave a lot of interesting facts about tigers and India.  Mrs. Poonam Singh was very helpful as well.  Mahesh made our stay most comfortable.  The room and bathroom were great.  We had a very good time with the remaining guests in the hotel.  All in all, one of our most unforgettable experiences.

One of our Most Unforgettable Experiences

We had the most wonderful time at The Ranthambhore Bagh. "Excellent" rating is definitely not enough to describe this place. 
The service is top notch. I have stayed in 5 star hotels where the service was not as good as at The Ranthambhore Bagh. The staff is really accommodating and dedicating to providing a wonderful service. To give you an idea, one morning, we came back from our morning safari soaking wet. The staff, kindly brought us a cup of warm tea. We didn't ask for anything, but they saw we were wet and assumed we were cold (which we were). It was really kind of them.

The food is also amazing. The staff payed attention to what we liked and what we didn't like and made sure that we had what we liked at every meal (for me that included lentils and paneer cooked all different ways). And they just feed you... A lot! I've definitely gained a few kilos there, but it was all homemade and absolutely delicious! One night, the F&B Manager asked if we wanted to have a romantic dinner away from the hotel in a very special place. Not knowing what to expect, we agreed. We got back from our safari, a car was waiting for us with 3 staff (it was only my husband and I going out for dinner), tables, chairs, drinks and food packed in the car. They drove us to the bottom of the hill near the park (we were almost in the park), and they set up a beautiful candle light dinner: amazing food (and plenty of it), table, chairs, candles, etc... It was wonderful.  

As for the rooms, they basic but comfortable, large and clean.

Finally in terms of the location it is perfect as not too far from town and also very close to the park entrance.

I highly recommend staying that at The Ranthambhore Bagh!!!

5 star service! Absolutely amazing

Excellent hospitality...home away from home...good food, tents nicely done up, spacious staff extremely courteous friendly and hands on..Safari tour available coordinated by the hotel staff..variety of cuisine including Indian Chinese and continental,10 MNS from the sanctuary...

A Humble paradise!

What a simply wonder place to stay and relax! The accommodation and staff are top class and we really enjoyed our tent with an enormous bed and delightful private bathroom. Everyone was very helpful and so many of the guests are regulars it only goes to confirm that so many folk want to return again and again.

We are hopping to return for a longer duration in the future as 2 nights simply wasn’t long enough.

My second visit. Took care to an even higher level this time thanks to Ram Singh, Natwar, Poonam, Gajendra Ji and of course Aditya Dada.. Safari experience is better than most in SWM due to Rajkumar and Lokesh. The winter and new year period meant the Bagh was buzzing in the eves as well. Baba and me are most grateful, loyalty will last forever when both of us travel to RTR. Tigers galore but an experience of a lifetime all thanks to Rajkumar in the last safari I.e tiger and bear fight! Thank you all and see you soon.

Bagh is Ranthambhore

We stayed here for two nights. Check in was not the best, my daughter was fabulous and confident in checking in until this hotel which asking questions which she answered but then they kept on on which point made it all confusing and she hated it and just wanted to leave. We were taken to our tent. I would not describe the  tents as luxury, but nice! including a basic shower/toilet/ wash basin!  The beds were comfortable. For air conditioning there is a big noisy industrial fan but there is also another smaller quieter fan that you can put on in the evening. We had a little visitor in our tent, a small frog, which was amusing watching my daughter trying to help it get back outside! 

Service is friendly - especially one member of staff  made our stay lovely and a memorable one . And if it wasn’t for him we could not wait to leave! But luckily this member of staff offered us tea and biscuits while waiting for our first afternoon  safari and told us the schedule of the afternoon, therefore making us feel far more comfortable and relaxed.   We had brunch when we got back from  safari and must say  it was plentiful and delicious food, especially the honey pancakes . 

The breakfast, lunch and dinner was all included and apart from the evening buffet on the second day we received private dining. All dishes delivered to our table and informed what each dish was so friendly and always smiling! ( really sorry that I did not get your name but you made our stay a very happy a memorable one - you worked very long hours as always there,  evening meal and again at breakfast!) The evening dinner was  range of curries, poppadoms, salads and came round offering more chapatis. It was lovely eating out in the candlelit garden. And it was buffet style so could get more, certainly did not go hungry.

In the tent.  Nighttime was very noisy with traffic throughout night but it didn’t bother us too much,  all part of the atmosphere of India with horns always going 😄. The tent has a little porch area with two chairs and a tables and it was lovely relaxing there after our shopping trip. There are some nice craft stores nearby

The gardens are nice to relax in with swings, we enjoyed tea and biscuits in the garden. 

The jeep safaris both morning & afternoon were good - on time, & we saw one tiger am safari but it was rather crowded with about 6 other jeeps but we had an excellent tour guide and even let my daughter stand on the jeep bonnet to get a great shot.

The drinks are reasonable priced. When we got got from the safaris one member of staff always happy and smily offering us drinks which was wonderful. He certainly made our stay lovely, it was lovely staying in a tent during our tour of India for the the safari trips. 

Although we went on three safaris and each time a different gate, we only saw one tiger. I don't think October is the best time to go as most of the park is closed so the jeeps only cover a small area of the park and also a lot of time just waiting for time to pass. Our first guide was good and we saw lots of animals, the second was excellent and the guide let my daughter climb onto the bonnet to get a shot but the third guide/ tour was not all good but at least the crowd was great on the jeep.

On the hunt for Tigers! - Hotel 3 of our India Tour!

This hotel has a dated, neo colonial feel and suffers from delusions of grandeur. The staff are pleasant enough, although clearly very few have any formal training, as a result of which service is hit and miss. 

The food is certainly acceptable, but frankly you can get a much tastier and more interesting meal at a local restaurant 500 metres away, for half the price.

The accommodation is certainly unusual. Don’t be tempted by the promise of luxury tents. They could not be more basic and the showers are a nod to a bygone era. Also, incredibly noisy, being close to the main road.

The place is now frequented by keen amateur photographers who are certainly happy to regale you with tales of derring do and what might have been, whether you want to know or not.

Look, there’s basically nothing wrong with the place. but that’s hardly a glowing recommendation, is it? If you like to reminisce about the way the world once was, whilst waving a two foot telephoto lens around, this is the place for you. 

If not, I’d give it a miss. 🐅👎
