We were lucky to spend 5 relaxing days in Malgund. The Apte family was very warm and welcoming and we felt at home in our nice and clean room. In the morning excellent Indian breakfast was served! They were helping with organizing our activities and communicating with the taxi drivers. We are very grateful for our time in Malgund at the Shubhankar Home Stay!

Very friendly home stay close to a wounderful beach

I hv stayed in this Shubhankar home stay twice.
Once in Dec.2014
Second in Dec.2017.
Owner family is very nobel,gentle,simple and sober.
They provide very good homely atmosphere to guests.
There are 4 rooms.....3 at ground floor and 1 at first floor. 
Both floor rooms are very nice...clean.Bathrooms are also clean. Clean bedding.
Area for drying cloths proper.
Good balcony gives very nice natural view of scenary.
Owner provided good homely prepared breakfast.
In campus there is car parking area.And also many Coconut trees. 
Owner provided us fresh Coconut water.There is a tap water in garden area where we can wash feet after returning beach.
Nearest beach is walkable(5 to 7 min.)where water sports are available.Other is about 1.2 km. infront if Nirmal Nagari.
This home stay is available for very reasonable price.
In 1 room we stayed 4 adults.
Rooms are spacious.
Before reaching Ganpatipule we had been to Goa, where hotels are costly,hotel staff was arrogant and uncooperative.

We extended our stay at this lovely, family-run home stay. Our room was comfy and clean with excellent breakfast served each morning. The nearby beach was amazing: almost empty of people, good swimming and beautiful seashells. We had meals a 5 minute walk down the road and there are more options in the nearby village. The only drawbacks were lack of internet (with only one sometimes open internet in the village) and no common chill space for guests. Only some rooms have shared kitchen; ask if you want those rooms. Very helpful and friendly hosts made our stay!

Peace by the Beach

I had planned my holidays on 25th Dec 2015 and it was 11th hour plan, all hotels in Ganpatipule and Malgund were already full and luckily I got 1 room at Shubhankar homestay. Mr. Hemant (Owner) lives at 1st floor and ground floor is for tourists. Very reasonable room rents, clean, neat and spacious rooms and sufficient space to park your car.

It is beautiful place to stay, Malgund beach is just 5 min walking distance and you can hear sound of ocean at night. It is around 3-4 km away from Ganpatipule temple but the road Ganpatipule-Malgund is perfect Kokan, covered with trees and essence of nature.

As it is homestay, it doesn't have restaurant but they have good kitchen and owner provide you tea at any time and morning breakfast. Mr. Hemant provided a good info about other tourist places in nearby areas such as Jaigad Fort, Lighthouse, Karhateshwar Temple, Prachin Kokan. He arranges for local transport and also guides about different routes to Mumbai, Pune and Sangli.

As compared to nearby hotels, Shubhankar Homestay is good choice, its like Home away from Home at good price.

Nice, cool place to stay

since it was holiday season and all the hotels in Ganpatipule were full we decided to take a chance for this property. Property is a budget property .It is located on main road and very near to Malgund beach 3 kms away from Ganpatipule.
Malgund beach is better and less crowded than Ganpatipule beach. 
Property is new with  3 rooms and the Owner stays above.One can get tea and breakfast .( Traditional dishes . once can try the dadpe pohe which are worth trying) however Lunch and Dinner has to be outside . ( Madachya Banat and Mehendales Swad Dining are good options close to the property .)
Rooms are big and bathroom is clean . however the property lacks the amenities required by the travellers . No tables are available , no space to keep luggage , no space to keep the shoes ,no place to dry the clothes ,, no dining area etc.
it is difficult for travellers to arrange the luggage , put clothes for drying , since there is no table one need to just stand and eat .once you are back from the beach wet and muddy you come directly inside the room , which makes all the rooms dirty .
There is no geyser in the bathroom . The owner provides the water in buckets from the first floor which is cumbersome and if you are many people you waste lot of time waiting for the hot water .There is no staff as such . Everything is taken care by owner and his son.There is lot of scope for further improvements .

scope for further Development

I booked this hotel in mid of July 15 for my planned trip on 7 Nov 15.
Did an advance payment and the owner attended it with utmost transparency & sincerity.
Just as the name suggests this is a private home (newly constructed) in Malgund which is about 6 kilometers away from Ganpatipule Temple.
The Owner (Mr. Hemant ) lives on the first floor & rents the ground floor to visitors like us)
The rooms are enough to accommodate one family of 2 child & 2 adult.
The rooms and the toilets are clean enough just as you would expect.
The hosting couple are good care taking, provides good guidance & also arranges for local transport.
They do offer snacks for the morning although of less variety but with a real taste.
Malgund has a beach which is opposite to this home stay hotel & the beach is a real beauty where very very very less people visit & so you can claim it as an Private Beach.
When compared with other hotels ... Shubhankar Home Stay makes you feel at home in an affordable budget.
