Me with wife and two children stayed here for 2 days. We had opted for Duplex Cottage - its a new concept - mostly seen at Himachal or Uttaranchal. They have 3 such cottages and 2 Premium Rooms. Main attraction of the stay is , its located amidst thick plantation of coffee, pepper, orange , cardamom , cocoa etc. During the stay, we will have the feel of Forest - lot of greenery - sound of insects - sweet sounds of little birds , but beware of leeches in plantations during the monsoon time.Regarding food, we had breakfast - the quality and quantity was satisfactory. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will recommend to the visitors who loves Nature !

Stay amidst serene environment !

Didn't have any expectations about the place, since just wanted to spend some time with the raw natural surroundings. It turned out to be more than the expected. Situated amongst the coffee plantations and lots of greenery, it is a place worth visiting if you are looking for no disturbance quiet place. Tucked away from the main town market, the place has nice duplex type cottages. Two types. Comfortable and relaxing  at the same time . Rooms are big, and have an extra bed on the upper area. A small veranda opening in the coffee greens is your extra luxury. Orange and avacado trees are around the property. Hot water is available in the morning and on request later. 
Bathroom was clean and maintenance is good.  WiFi is free but signal strength is not very good and intermittent. But in a way that is a blessing. :)
Staying here was fun, with solitude. Am sure, when you want to live with the nature , you don't expect a modern five star luxury, and that's the beauty of the place. 
The staff is smiling and very cordial. The food is home cooked. But local flavours are evident. All kind of food is available., They go an extra mile sometimes to prepare as per your choice and beyond the menu, if ordered in advance.
They also have own coffee farms, with Arabica, Robusta and other coffee plantations. They give tour of the farms, which is huge with variety of plantation, including spices like cardamom, black pepper etc.
The owners live in the same vicinity and make it a point to greet and make you comfortable.
I would love to visit again, if I get a chance to be away from the chaos.

Serenity amidst nature

This place situated appx. 7 kmts from Madikeri town. They have independent cottages and premium rooms. There are only 2 premium rooms and around 3 cottages. I have opted to stay in Premium room. Both has a price difference of around 1k. Premium rooms are spacious, clean and modern. It has all the basic facilities like television, small fridge, sofa. These rooms have balcony too with chairs provided. Front side of the room has a dining table along with chairs suitable for food, reading and sit out too. There is a tree house kind of set up which has a fire place and suitable for dining as well. We had campfire which was good experience. Hot water is available round the clock. Only problem is the food. Breakfast there will be only one dish along with fruits and coffee/Tea. Very limited menu and no options to choose. Out of 2 days of my stay, we were disappointed both days. Lunch /Dinner too, it costs around 350 rupees per plate hence we have decided not to eat there. Both days we went to  Madikeri for dinner since we have our transportation. Though they claim as homestay being primary reason for having buffet or multiple dishes, this could have been way better and price has nothing to do with it. 
This is located in Tea estate, room has view to the tea estate, next to the property there is a small road connects to the madikeri main road which is around 500 meters. Place is peaceful, you can walk around and go for tea estate walk even Property owner organises at some cost. Away from city hustle bustle, place is calm and close to the nature. Abby falls, madikeri town attractions are with in 10 kmts.
Staff was polite and courteous. Place is suitable for families, couples and small groups too. Need to have own / private transportation to reach this place. 

Overall property, staff and location is good. If you can check alternate for food, this is perfect place for holiday. 


Home stay in Coffee estate

The place is very beautiful , well maintained and clean . We went on rainy season , instead of heavy rains they took care of all our needs. The staff was very friendly and accommodative. Being away from town , the options on food here are less but all the food items provided are very hygienic and tasty just like home made food.

we missed many things like visit to coffee estate, bonfire , barbecue etc because of rains but overall the stay was very nice. we took the liberty of the surrounding to do great photography. The only issue we faced was the power cut . The UPS and generator both gave up in midnight and we have to stay without power till morning. That was never a problem because of the chill weather in Coorg.

A pleasant stay .. Would recommend the place to others

Good resort, Staff well behaved, pleasant and professional. The food is provided in the rooms- more variety needed. Cleanliness of bedding and linen, and mosquitoes are  matter of concern- needs attention.

The coffee tour with the honey pot home is worth the money spent with the time.
The story of coffee from plant to cup spiced with pepper and clove gives a treat to the ears and feast for the eyes and food for brain.
As our very own friend and guide Gunshekhar takes us to the robusta and arabica plants telling thier characters and problem of the white borers. He also shows us the large processing unit at the end and tells us about civet coffee the costliest of all. He also explains the use of gliricidia as a shade for the coffee.

Beautiful cottages butTerrible food,very pricey for the quality they provide.Breakfast is also  very limited  & same bread  jam/butter with one variety eitherupma/idli/Puri etc.nearby restuarant is in madikeri which is 7km away.

I came all the way from the US and I have been to many places and met a lot of beautiful people but coming to Honey Pot Homes was truly an incredible and humbling experience. The staff here are so friendly and accommodating to your needs. When we first arrived, I was greeted by the owner of the estate, Shamveel. Warm and welcoming he showed us around and explained the history of HPH and the plantation estate. Our quarters and the rest are located in a lush forest like setting where trees tower over providing such beauty shade that even on a hot day, you can feel the cool breeze from the mountain/hill air. Surrounded by Arabica/Robusta coffee trees, the aroma of the fermented cherries engulfed the air with such sweet winey like smell. Upon request and additionally, they will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each morning we had breakfast in our front patio and it was magical to enjoy not just the view but the sounds of wildlife that surrounds it. They also have a treehouse where you can request to dine there as well and enjoy the high view while staying warm with the fireplace under the night sky. I highly recommend taking part of of the coffee plantation tour. Truly is an amazing experience to see the transition from plant to cup and how its harvested. Another thing thats really helpful is that they will also coordinate travel arrangements if you do not get your own transportation such as going into the town of Madikeri and also any excursions you wish to do. If you are a nature lover then this will be perfect for you and dont worry, they provide WiFi also if you decide to bring the family. Again my overall experience here was such a memorable one and would definitely come back!

Memories for a lifetime

I had stayed with my family here during dussera holidays in Oct 2018...i must say this is definitely one of the best places to stay in Madikeri.. Rooms and facilities are so awesome which are par with luxury resorts but here u get it at a very reasonable price. Room is really neat with clean bathroom and TV, mini fridge, microwave etc. The room also has a top floor with a ladder kind stairs where there is an extra double cot which is something I haven't experienced anywhere else.. The owner has really done something innovative keeping in mind the comfort his guests would enjoy ..The coffee estate n trees around create a very cool ambience and not to forget the tree house which is actually a concrete built structure which also houses the campfire. 
The staff are very helpful and Co operative esp Mr. Elyas who also took us on a tour on an awesome vintage jeep through their vast estate which comprises of orange, avocado n many more trees n plants amidst their coffee plantations which we have just heard of .
Owner Mr. Faisal and family also stay in the premises and they are very friendly n helpful. The way they strike a conversation with us is such like one would feel they have known us for ages. Really thankful to them for providing us such a pleasant experience. 
They also have a play area where kids can engage themselves along with some lovely pets like rabbits and a swan. 
Dog and cat lovers won't be disappointed as there's a very lovely doggy and a cat which often visits the guests. 
U can pet them n treat them with a snack. 
Would definitely love to come back for the ambience and of course to meet all of them. 
Food is quite good which u need to order at least 3 hrs in advance as they don't have a restaurant and they need to cook it in their kitchen. 
U can choose food from the menu available there which has limited stuff but whatever they serve is yummy n hot. 
Complimentary breakfast is also good which we enjoyed... They don't serve you 3-4 varieties in breakfast but whatever they serve is quite sufficient to start your day. 
Last but not the least,accessibility is quite good n comfortable as the property is just 300 mts from the Madikeri - Mysore highway. Hardly 7 kms from madikeri town where u can find lots of shops n hotels and many other locations such as rajas seat, Abby falls ,dubare elephant Camp,chiklihole reservoir,nisarga drama, and some temples are easily reachable from here.Thank you all for taking time to read my review which I believe would help you out.
