We were at this hotel from 21st March to 23rd March but the service here is very poor. Except for Tanmoy and Santu, all the staff's use is not good. Break fast quality very very bad. Reception staff behavior not good. TV not connected porperly

VERY BAD SERVICE AND FOODING QUALITY IS VERY VERY BAD

Both the staff and the family were very polite, nice and helpful. I stayed there 2 weeks because the place is perfectly located in a quiet area, with beautiful view, all facilities and  at an unbeatable price. Thank you again for everything.

We stayed at these lovely rooftop rooms for a few nights in Darjeeling. It's a lovely setting with views of the mountains from your room window. The sunrise over them from the bed was incredible! The rooms feel really homely and are kept incredibly clean. The tour agency was also incredibly helpful, assisting with tips on the local area, train bookings, India information and even helping us get jeeps out of Darjeeling on really busy election days! One of the guys came with us and ran around the city helping to find a jeep to get us on our way. Incredibly helpful here and lovely, homely rooms!

As a long term budget traveller, I highly recommend Himalayan Gateway. The room was spotlessly clean and had an incredible view for the price, which is by far cheaper than all places I searched for before. The shared bathroom, again was spotless with a decent hot water shower and a basic rooftop to socialise with fellow rooftop dwellers. Prithvi, the manager couldn't have been nicer, an absolutely genuine guy who's more than happy to help with any enquires.

Great Place with the friendliest staff

Let me start by saying that this place is super cheap by Darjeeling standards. Therefore, I cannot be too harsh. However, the place was very tiny and quite grubby in parts. Obviously as its budget, there was no view or hot water, or heating/heater in the room so can't complain too much as, it was very cheap.

Saying this, it could be cleaner. The breakfast was good considering the price and the owners seemed like really nice people. I cannot give it any more than 3 stars though as, you wouldn't want to stay any longer unless you HAD to. Sorry :/

Ok for one night if you are on a tight budget

Its a budget hotel located near Mall Road. Run by an experienced Hotelier the rooms offer good mattress, clean bathroom, linen and upholstery. The property is located near the SP bungalow and is secured.

Budget Hotel In Darjeeling

The question is, would I stay here again ??? Probably not. I got a really good deal though OYO and because of that I feel I was given a bad room. No view except for a rubbish dump outside the window. For the first 3 day's  there was nothing but problem's with power and WiFi connection. I was told this was due to other influences but very inconvenient for a foreign traveller, especially when they advertise power back up. They also advertise an in house resturant which they do not have. Not a problem for me as I tend to eat street food, but could be for other's.  Also very difficult to find, even using Google maps. A cab is a must to find and reach this place even though it's only a 15 min walk from the share jeep rank. Once found location is not to bad. And credit to the staff, being friendly and helpful. Would I stay here again ??? If I was paying the full rate, probably not, feeling you could get a better hotel to stay at.
