the rooms are clean and the bed linens are somehow okay type. yes it does provides free pickup facility from nearby bus stand or railway station. and the breakfast was too good as buffet breakfast. and the meals provided in the hotels are somehow okay type. and finally it can be said the overall stay was good.

We stayed in Shikhar Palace for a night in December 2019. It's located on main road. Room is average and very basic. They have lift in the hotel which is old lift. Restaurant serves vegetarian food. Breakfast was complimentary. Options were limited and consisted of poha, bread, jam, butter. They also served sambar vada and Puri sabji. Tea/coffee was from vending machine. Breakfast was filling.

We had left our charger in the room. On our way back from our jungle trip we went to collect our charger, they could not locate it. They had confirmed on the phone that they had found charger. This was a very unprofessional attitude.

An average hotel

Hotel Shikhar Palace is a old hotel that is need of renovation. Rooms give you a 90s feel. Staff is very helpful, food is really good. Complimentary breakfast has good number of options. Bathrooms are really bad. Hot water is provided only via buckets. Lift does not work many a times. Railway station pick up is free with some online bookings. Dont forget to request for it. All in all a business travel hotel for 1 or 2 days stay nothing more.

Modest Hotel

I Saw some kids who were underage and working in the resturant. The staff is somewhat undertrained and incompetent. I would rate location:2.5/5, food:2.75/5 and staff 1.25/5. There is a lot of scope for improvement and I hope that happens. 

Incompetent 

We have been guest there from first dec 2016 to 2nd dec 2016. Renovation work was going on, so everywhere there was smell and stains   of paints. Which spoiled our mood badly. I have booked Deluxe luxury room. But interior of room was very simple. The biggest problem was problem of hot water. No hot water running in bathroom. every time u need it u have to call thrice or fourth. I asked for third bucket of hot water in cold morning the waiter replied me why u need more hot water. Really terrible.

I am giving 2 stars only for its very good complementary buffet breakfast.

Renovationand hot water issue  has spoiled the party.

Horrible experience with Shikhar Palace, Russel Chowk, Jabalpur.

Arranged my sister’s engagement ceremony for 130 guests. Even though everything was discussed before many times, the stage decoration was not what we finalised and it was so bad and cheap. There was no light music throughout the function as promised. They kept a speaker box which was not working and that was it. No one from the hotel was around to ask for help and any questions. 

No proper seating arrangements people were standing. Food was cold and few items were not available midway. Lift not working half the time.

When promised about the arrangements they were so polite but when we came back to tell about the inconvenience caused for our guests, they were super rude.

Very cheap services and rude staff,they will apply unnecessary charges after completion of party and service.If they committed to pay 20000 in starting ,but at the time of payment they will Charge   upto 25000 in name of tax and other stuff.

2.Rude staff- There is one fat lady ,sits in 2 floor receptionist.She is very rude ,illiterate.She can misbehave and shout  you and your guests.
I am sharing one incident ,my sister's engagement was on 25 nov in shikhar palace hotel  we booked one  hall for party and two rooms for them,my jeeju's family and guest came ,my jeeju's family went on room to be ready for party .but that fat lady came and scolded on them and saying how cam more than 3 person stay in one room etc ,but we have already talked to manager at the time of booking for this scenario that our guests will use room .So if you want to escape such type embarrassment .please see other hotel where staffs are nice and well behaved.   
we feel  very insulted .They do not know talk how to talk with customer ,if you will use their services they will behave like a school teacher who scold on every thing.They do not use sir/medam words ,
3.If you looking for party,beaware,electricity problem can occur
