Nicely located, well appointed spacious studio apartment. Near the port and near the fort, Joanna’s Place provided a good base for Paleochora. The housekeeping was a little too efficient, though, tossing onto the garbage items we had left out but intended to use. Joanna was a bit too much of a businesswoman, we had gotten used to small family run hotels in Greece.

Spacious studio, good location

We wish we could have stayed for weeks at Joanna's place. The apartment-style room was superb, clean and airy, with a small balcony for enjoying a glass of wine and the views of the water and the coastline. There's a small beach just across the street and a truly outstanding taverna restaurant next door. Because it's at the tip of the peninsula, you feel like you're in a very special place. Parking is not a problem, and heading out of town in any direction (along the shore, inland) is very easy. Paleohora is wonderful, and Joanna's Place is the place to stay!

Gorgeous setting and fun place to stay

The only reason. I gave a 3 instead of 4 rating is the Saturday night noise from Maxthexis tavern next door. And there is significant hallway noise from other guests going and coming. Also the mini kitchen should have had at least salt and pepper. 
But the studio was clean and the balcony had an ocean view and a small clothes line. This is a new modern complex of studios. They are freshly painted, the plumbing works and the sheets are soft and ironed. However, the walls are bare and there is nothing to soften the sound or warm the environment. Also the floor grate in the bathroom was broken exposing sharp metal spikes. Something I’ve seen in other Cretan bathrooms. 
Joanna is quick to respond by mail and gave exact directions how to reach the hotel and get into our room. Maid service was very friendly too. 
Overall I recommend this place for the value and it’s good location; across the street is a easy entry rocky spot to snorkel. 

Good location 

In 10 minutes walking from the center of Palaiochora and the beach, Joanna's place is the ideal place in order to relax and enjoy the summer. Large room with kitchen and bathroom offering to the visitor to feel like living in a summer home.

Great location and large rooms with many facilities

Had a great week here.Modern and cleaned every day.Juice  and water on arrival was a nice touch.At the quiet end of town only 5/10 minutes from town and beautiful Sandy beech.Little stone beech across the road great for a swim first thing in the morning.We paid extra for sea view worth every penny.Brilliant spot in a brilliant little town.
