Good stay in early season 2022 - Hotel location and size/scale are good with great facilities.
Steps/hill to main road could be a problem for less mobile but this is not hidden and we knew before we went so all ok.
Room - Ours was a bit poor and at the back of the older block - whilst clean and ok it could deffo do with a refurb and lightening up but i suppose some room have to be at back of hotel block/no view etc - if i went again i'd upgrade but didn't realise when booked.
Went SC but ate in the bar a couple of lunchtimes and food was great. Bar area was also nice and well laid out, clean etc.
Pool was nice, even the resident frog/toads on a night ...... Good sunbed and terrace .....
Overall a nice stay with everything you need in a great location and village ...... just some of the rooms to uplift

Good but could do with a bit of TLC

Very beautiful modern room (I booked a superior room) very clean, friendly helpful staff, location isn’t great but all round great hotel, there are lots of steps!!
Only of putting thing was when then concierge showed me to my room and intimidated me into giving a tip

Book the superior room

We were staying there (2 people) for 9 days and it was amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpfull(especially Alex from reception and Nicos the bartender ). You can tell they love their jobs. The food from the resort was amazing and cheap to our surprise. Cleaning was done everyday and the woman was super kind too. Overall we will come back next year and we can't wait to see everyone again.

Amazing experience!

First time to Crete and we chose this hotel because it was convenient for the motorway (we love to explore in a car), good reviews, good half board option, pillow menu and car park. Proved to be a great choice- we had a superior room with fantastic views down to the coast and the food in the Olivia restaurant was very good with excellent service from Ivana and Nefteris.

Great hotel with a good location.

Amazing place to stay! From the moment you arrive georgios is so friendly and so funny. Nikos Behind the bar is such a lovely person and made our stay that extra bit special. 

The pool is very clean and plenty of sun loungers.
our room (53) were super clean and every day our beds were made down and clean towels. 

The food is very simple but equally good quality. We only stayed for breakfast once. The buffet held a large variety for breakfast so it would suit everyone.

Absolutely would stay here again- 5 stars

Amazing place and people

Lovely place to stay and the hotel ensured we had apts together as 4 friends travelling together 
The apts are clean, regular fresh linen and sheets. Beds are lovely and so comfortable 
Problem with shower in room 119 no shower curtain and everything got soaked. 
No extra hand towel for drying hands following hand hygiene. 
The pool area is good, although people do reserve beds. 
Breakfast is great and good value for money 
Suggestions would be; 
Better sun beds, many hotels now have mattresses on them. 
Hand towels as extra 
Two keys for guests 
Upkeep to bathrooms 
Staff are lovely and very hard working 
This is not a place for people with mobility issues. 
Weather was great so we need to return for some sunshine

Friends on tour

First visited Asterias village in Oct 2019 and couldn't wait to return. I was not disappointed! 
I was upgraded to a 1 bed apartment, Room 25 with a huge terrace and an amazing view, both day and night. It also only had half the amount of stairs, either up to the road or down to the pool. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you could need. I love Asterias as it is so central to all the shops, restaurants and between villages. The pool area is lovely to relax with plenty of sunbeds. All the staff were so helpful, polite and friendly with special mention to Alex. I will hopefully return again next year. Thank you all very much. 

Return visit! 

We love the villages of Koutouloufari, Piskopiano, and old Hersonissos and have stopped here in different places before.
We were recommended this Hotel we looked into it so we thought we would give it a try we were very pleased we did.
Before we went we asked for a higher room and when we got there we got a fantastic view from our balcony it wasn't a sunny balcony but the weather was very kind to us so we were fine.
The one bedroom apartment was fab very comfortable bed , plenty of cupboard space and drawers.
Bathroom was great shower very good.
Kitchen, lounge area excellent with two single beds in there utensils were fine just what you normally have and we did cook on the two rings.
Cleaners came in every day with clean towels and sheets lovely girls.
We were near the road side half way up but we did use the steps a few times not a problem.
The pool area is fab and you can get a sunbed. Bar area is very good plenty of seats.
The staff are excellent so friendly always a smile from the cleaners bar staff to the reception and management nothing is too much trouble everyone says Hello.
Will definitely use this hotel again the location is great in the middle of Koutouloufari.
Also a mention about the supermarket across the road you can get mostly everything you need at a reasonable price and the staff are great,

Fabulous hotel and Location

Absolutely fabulous place, koutouloufari is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! 
We used the hotel transfer from the airport, it was cheaper than other companies and no other drops so straight there! 
On arrival we were upgraded to the private villa up the steps from reception, this was amazing, private pool(meant kids could have inflatables) full kitchen, epic sea view!! It was absolutely perfect and really made our holiday, if you’ve booked two/three rooms I’d highly recommend asking for this. 
The breakfast was lovely, fruit, pastries, bacon eggs etc, we didn’t eat any other meals there. The bar was pretty expensive but a good selection of drinks. 
Rooms cleaned daily, great staff, main pool lovely, as others have said the entry to the pool is really slippery, hang on to the rail!! There are LOTS of steps, even without mobility issues if you’re not really fit it’s hard work! 
It’s in the best location between both villages, bars and restaurants everywhere but all family ones, the supermarket opposite is great, reasonable prices and the owner lovely. If you have kids there’s air hockey and pool and loads of young families so kids will make friends, there’s a kids club for little ones. 
My mum had a superior double room (rooms 1-5) these are all new and gorgeous, overlooking the pool with a sea view.
We had a wonderful time and would return without hesitation!

Fabulous place!!

First visit to Crete and not disappointed. The hospitality was fantastic. Asterisks village was ideally located in the middle of many taverns and restaurants. All staff so friendly special mention to George on arrival and Nikos at the pool bar customer service fantastic. Upgraded from one bedroom to a lovely apartment with mezzanine level. Food at pool bar great value and tasty. The Olivia restaurant great food and the lovely lady in charge was so nice.
Heard some people moaning round the pool about the accommodation can’t understand it. Yeah think our friend apartment was tired in decor but very clean and clean towel daily
