Nice hospitality, great service, tasty food oooh ,the scent of the place, enough parking good accommodations, you always feel like at home ,I never experienced that life before since I started having vacations, the great view looks of the night 🌙

It is perfect for a romantic holiday with a loved one .soo private nice swimming pool .great customer service and above all a very condusive environment and great hoapitality from workers .was a nice experince .

Great family awesome place highly recommended! The view in Kythera…! Great hospitality and customer service by Vanessa and Eleanna. Rooms-pool-restaurant and the whole place was always clean and tidy. We will come back for sure next summer!

"I don't need your money and I don't care." Is what the El Sol owner, Vanessa, said to me. Such an incredibly rude and unprofessional business owner with several awful, dated rooms at her property. I will post pictures of the awful rooms given.

Due to COVID in 2021 my husband and I had to cancel our family trip to the El Sol. At that time my husband and I asked the owner of El Sol, Vanessa, to please keep our money as we will rebook and stay next year.  We did just that and checked in a few days ago - July 15, 2022. (AND we MADE the REBOOKING in August of 2021). 

Upon checking in Vanessa gave my family and I the worst 2 rooms at her property in the bottom corner. When I saw the rooms I asked to moved. Vanessa said there were no other rooms and had nothing to offer.  However, our friends, who decided to come with us on this trip and BOOKED only 8 weeks ago, AND checked in at the VERY same time we did were given a top level beautiful room with a sitting area. When I asked Vanessa why we didn't get that room or a room like our friends did, Vanessa rudely said there was a last minute cancellation and she gave that room to our friends and she had nothing left for me. 

I do not understand why I wouldn't be given the better room when Vanessa/El Sol had my money and booking for 2 years for "the best available rooms."

When my husband and I booked we asked for "the best rooms available with the best views." We told Vanessa we have 3 children ages 18, 16, and 12 and we do not need the rooms to be close together. 

The rooms we were given had moldy bathroom showers, cracked tile, a broken shower head, seating for one, a tiny view, a dungeon feel and, in the double room, one had to stand across the room from the bed to charge electronic devices.  It truly felt like we were in a run down dungeon, except when you went up to the pool area, which did have nice views. 

Vanessa the owner treated my husband and I with disregard and acted like she had the only hotel on the island and it was a take it or leave it proposition. She offered us absolutely NOTHING, but was quite rude. 

This was our first vacation since COVID.  We checked out early due to the dungeon feel of the room with no real seating, moldy, cracked bath tiles and a broken shower. We were utterly disappointed, especially seeing the upgraded room my friends received and booked only 8 weeks in advance.  My only speculation as to why Vanessa gave the better room to my friends who booked at the last minute is that my friends used a travel agency, Brownell Travel, which probably booked the room for triple the price I paid. 

When we checked out early Vanessa told me she, "did not care and did not need my money." Truly unbelievable!!

After leaving the El Sol we went to The Porto Delfino Hotel, which is about 1/2 mile from the El Sol. It is LOVELY!! Amazing views, great pool, clean rooms with nice furnishings, with balconies that have picture perfect views. And, most of all, the staff at Porto Delfino Hotel wanted us to be there. We would stay at the Porto Delfino again without a doubt! 

I would NEVER stay at the El Sol again and highly recommend that no one else do so either. The owner "does not need your money" and will give you the worst room at her hotel, while a last minute travel agency booking will get the best room over you, and the owner will treat you with utter disregard.

El Sol is located on the hillside overlooking the bay of Kapsali. This means a steep walk down to the beach which takes about 15 minutes (and about 25 back up !) but transport was available. The views are amazing; both across the sea and up to the town of Chora. We stayed at the beginning of the season and so it was very quiet but due to the layout of the rooms you wouldn't be disturbed by other guests. A buffet breakfast -hot and cold food- was served on the terrace by the pool (from 8.30-11.am) and was of an excellent quality; the honey and home-made jam were a treat. The whole site was clean and always tidy. Staff were always around but not intrusive. We were impressed by everything but especially the staff who were so welcoming and kind. We would definitely return.

A lovely place to stay again and again and ...

The hotel is located on a hill with a beautiful view of the sea and the town of Kithira. The facilities are nice, showing their age a little but continuous upkeep is evident. Kithira is a beautiful islands with many things to see and your hosts at the Hotel El Sol are more than capable of guiding you properly for a good time!

Every day I found an excuse to stay more . Amazing people. Amazing breakfast . Don’t oversleep you will regret it 🥓 .

This dynamic Hotel Owner and Staff have made it quite simple to say yes we will be back. The atmosphere here is charged with positive vibes from the service to the view and the accommodations are uniquely designed for a cozy stay.  

Vacation

Very attentive and friendly staff, spectacular views and great breakfast. Totally enjoyed our stay at El Sol enjoying long breakfasts, with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and Venetian Castle, followed by total relaxation by the pool. El Sol is close to both Kapsali beach with its numerous restaurants and night life, as well as the the boutique shops of the Hora old town.  This was the second time we have stayed at the El Sol, and we will definitely be staying there again.

Fantastic location if you are thinking of that idealic Greek Island experience, with a relaxed and pampered ambience.

This was our first stay at El Sol. We were there for 4 nights in mid August and thoroughly enjoyed the place. 

This hotel is set high above the beachside village of Kapsali. It has spectacular views. From picturesque water and mountain views by day to magically lit castle views by night. Moonlit nights are perfect as you look across the sea and the moonlight reflects off the calm waters below. 

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The rest of the hotel is superb. The sparkling pool is sensational against the white backdrop of the hotel rooms which adds to the serenity. 

The staff are amazing, friendly and absolutely welcoming. You can tell that they take pride in their work and service to the guests. 

Breakfast is very good with plenty of choices. 

You will need a car to get there as it’s a bit of a walk up a semi-steep hill. If you don’t mind a bit of exercise it takes about 20 minutes to walk up to the hotel from Kapsali.
