These cottages are delightfully set in quiet & lovely gardens about 1 mile from the town which is an easy walk, cycle or taxi ride away. They offer everything you might need, if not chat to Georgia the lovely & friendly hostess, along with her husband Thomas. We are so pleased we stayed here and not in the town, the surroundings, the wildlife, the flowers, the olive trees, it is all magical. About 20 minutes walk in the opposite direction to the town are the beaches of Gialiskari & Anidri, lovely, sandy and with a good taverna offering traditional food & drink. There is also a lovely walk or cycle ride up to Anidri village. We will be returning next year and are really looking forward to it. Thank you 🙏

Delightful quiet setting in lovely gardens, surrounded by mountains.

These lovely cottages and peaceful garden provided an idyllic stay in Greece. We loved meeting the owner and the views were wonderful. Our cottage was very comfortable, we wish we had stayed longer.

We first stayed in Palaiochora 25 years ago and we’ve been several times since. It has a big place in our hearts - and this trip was very special to us.
We stayed at Olive Tree Cottages about 18 years ago so it was nice to find it had hardly changed at all. There are several cottages all arranged around a pretty garden very well cared for by Georgia, the owner. Our cottage, no 6, was simple but clean, with its own balcony from where you can see the sea. It has big olive trees right next it in which the cicadas are unbelievably loud!
It has air-conditioning but for some reason we were asked to keep it at 26 degrees.... still rather hot! The beds were firm and comfortable and the sheets fresh & cool. 
There was lots of scampering around on our roof at night - never quite sure what was up there - but we got used to it!
The cottages are in very easy reach of the pebble beach, a 20 minute walk into town, and a short drive from our favourite Anidri beach. Two cafes in close walking distance. 

Revisiting Palaiochora

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay at Olive Tree cottages. Great to be staying amongst the olive trees and have the sounds of the odd goat and cicadas only a 20 minute walk from town. Lovely to walk back from dinner in town to see the dazzling night sky gradually reveal itself as you leave the street lighting of Paleochora. The cottages are well kitted out and have great views from the upstairs bedroom balcony. Pleasantly surprised to have two shower and toilet rooms. Georgia was very welcoming and friendly and provided us with lots of lemons and olive oil from the garden. Highly recommended.

These cottages are situated about 1.5km out of the centre of Paleochora in a very quiet area. Unless you like walking, car hire or taxi is suggested (a taxi costs €5 from the town centre). These cottages are superbly appointed, clean and decent with lovely local owners living on site. There is a wonderful garden area to enjoy and relax. If you want a really quiet and relaxing holiday away from the crowd, then this is the place to do - free Wi-Fi as well, but it only works in the garden area most times - but who cares? The views from the garden up to the mountains are exhilarating.

Absolutely first rate!

My husband an I have being going to Paleochora for 10 years, and last year we found this gorgeous place. Georgia and Tomas are wonderful hosts, our accommodation was perfect and it hopefully won't be the last time we stay there. Our two weeks went by too quickly. We knew that we would need a torch and that it was a little way out of town, but not a problem. The gardens are beautiful and it's very quiet and peaceful. Thank you Georgia and Tomas for making our holiday perfect

What an amazing find

Stayed for 4 nights, this was the other end of Paleochora to where we usually stay  and it meant that we could visit two new beaches - although if you do wish to do so I recommend a car as it's quite a long walk in the heat to both the beaches and into Paleochora.  Saying that plenty of visitors in the nearby campsite walked everywhere.  I'm not quite so enthusiastic.
The owner was very welcoming and provided fresh lemons from the garden and a bottle of wine (we had a choice of white, rose or red) which was a lovely touch.
The gardens are obviously her pride and joy and the flowers are lovely - you walk through the pretty courtyard to the cottages which are situated around it.
Our one bed apartment had a large sheltered and very private courtyard off the lower ground kitchenette/lounge (with full shower room downstairs).   Upstairs there was another full shower room off the bedroom and a large private balcony that actually had sea views.  The wooden stairs to the bedroom were quite steep so may be tricky if someone is infirm.
The air conditioning worked only if all doors/windows were closed and due to situation in an olive grove it was necessary to close up everything fairly early otherwise there were a lot of midgey visitors.  
The bedding and towels were changed after two days, the property was clean but basic, its not the sort of place that I would want to spend hours in as it was quite dark downstairs  - better to just use as a base.
It was possible to cook, there were two hot plates and a small oven but really just suitable for snacks and breakfast preparation.
This was a perfectly good location if you wish to be outside of the "town" (circa 1.4 km away) it was very quiet, location was pretty and overall good value €246 for 4 nights for the facilities we had.


Good value, basic accommodation

Lovely welcome - owner offered us lemons from her garden plus a litre of wine.   It is in a beautiful setting - the owner takes great pride in her garden which is very colourful.   Fairly basic 2 floor accommodation with air con, it had a beautiful ground floor terrace plus large first floor terrace with views of the sea and two shower rooms - one on ground floor and the other just off the bedroom.   You may struggle if you are planning on eating all meals here but there are two hotplates plus small oven so all the facilities are available.   The rating is mainly due to the cost which is extremely reasonable if you book early enough.    The accommodation was slightly too far outside of Paleochora for us to feel comfortable to walk in in July heat but property is reasonably close to Camping site and we drove plenty of others walking in. There are also two attractive beaches  close by but they entail a fairly long walk or min of 10 min car ride along a dust track (takes so long as it is difficult to go fast) but Sandy Beach has a lot of trees for shade, umbrellas and sunbeds available for hire -  plus decent cantina and WC and bizarrely a full on site Spa.   There is a nude sunbathing area at the far end of the beach.

Great budget option

judt come back from 10 days stay at Olive Tree Cottages. the upstairs  south facing bedroom balcony gave us a gorgeous view over  olive trees to the sea and sky a lovely place for breakfast or an evering drink. comfortable well equipped accommodation friendly and helpful hosts who welcomed us with some of their delicious  home made rose wine and olive oil, lovely well tended gardens the tinkling of goat bells  a cockerell and cicadas the only sounds. all in all a great place to be. Convenienly located  100m from nearest beach, half way between the town and the superb beach at gialiskari, around 2 km each way,  so a manageable walk or an easy drive or bike ride. highly recommended.
