We have been there already twice. Located in Chania centre, with parking, perfect starting point to enjoy the city and explore Crete.
Clean and comfortable room, with cooking annex, equipped for what we need.
More to add: hospitable owners treated us with delicious home made snacks. 
Good place to stay again.

Great place

Comfortable and spacey apartment with private parking site on a perfect location approx. 3 minutes walk from the historical old town (15 minutes walk to the Venetian harbour). Hospitability and helpfullness of the owner is also unquestionable. We were there for one night stay only, so cannot review the beaches around, but if you travel by car, Seitan Limani on Akrotiri (35 minutes drive) is a must! Although the accessibility of the beach is a bit demanding, it is a miracle of nature. When on Akrotiri, be sure to check Venizelos graves as well, if only for the marvellous view of the whole Chania bay. With more time at hand, a 30 minute drive south of Chania will take you to a beautiful Botanical park & Gardens of Crete (1 hour / 2 hour walk in the midst of beautiful gardens)

Exceptional

Stayed here for 2 nights, when we arrived it was the owners son's who was there, such a polite young men, so helpful! The appartment was great, cute balcony, some food also on the counter and a little gift when we left. We loved our stay and would go back anytime!!!

Really nice place, location, owners!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Irene Maisonettes in May. The hostess gave us fresh fruit, cookies etc. and was very helpful whenever we asked about something. The apartment was very well equipped. There was everything we could need and everything looked very fresh. Our apartment had the two beds upstairs from the room which is on the first floor. As we both had problems to walk in stairs, we got an extra bed on the lower level as soon as we mentioned it. We are 77 and 80 and one of us has problems walking in stairs and we think the apartment is more suited for people without walking problems. We got help with the baggage in the stairs leading to the apartment.The location of the apartments is superb. Within walking distance to ”everything” – for instance the harbour. There is a bakery in the ground floor of the building and a super market around the corner.

Superb location

We stayed in the upstairs maisonette which was really quirky and cute. Despite its small size it was very well equipped, with full kitchenette including coffee machine and all the cooking utensils you could ask for. The bathroom was very modern with a superb shower and lovely fluffy towels. The TV had a wide range of channels and there was a small but pleasant balcony. The beds up on the mezzanine were comfortable, although it did take quite a long time for the aircon to cool the upstairs area sufficiently for a comfortable sleep. Irene and her husband were wonderful hosts we were delighted to find a home made cake and syrup, raki and a range of pre packed breakfast items left for us. On our departure they also gave us a gift of herbs, olive oil and a hand sewn place mat, so thoughtful. The property is just off a busy main road and a short walk form the harbour and restaurants. Would definitely stay again if we wanted a break in Chania city.

A charming property with fantastic hosts, within easy walking distance of the centre

We stayed here one week in March. Friendly and helpful owners. Small but well organised space. Very clean. Self catering facilities if needed. Very convenient location only 5 mins to bus station and old town. We will definitely be staying again.

Nice location. Highly recommendable

The house is very close to Venetian wall and port-city center (10 min by walk), has also a private park with a gate closed during the night (which you can open with the controller).
The owner is very kind and polite, even if we don't have booked the breakfast we find in our room some Nespresso caps and some home-made cakes.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable with two floors where a small kitchen, bath and balcony at first and the sleeping room at 2nd.
When we'll be back in Chania for sure we'll came back there!

Everything you need, simply amazing

Stayed at Irene Maisonettes for 2 nights lower apartment.

The good:
* location brilliant
*secure parking
*cheap price
*very clean

The bad:
*noise from apartment upstairs comes straight down
*springs felt straight through matttess, both woke many times during night feeling springs digging in!
*apartment dark
* potential dangerous staircase that is terrible to try to step down from
*fridge is extremely noisy at night

We will be going back to Chania soon but will look elsewhere as 2 nights of terrible sleep and heading even most gentle foot steps from apartment above put us off.

Poor quality beds with springs felt all night isnt an excuse nor choice no matter how cheap accommodation is.


Cheap price doesnt make up for uncomfortable bed

This place is top-notch. In 9 weeks traveling around, this was THE BEST overall stay we have had. It had everything to the very last detail. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The room had a perfectly stocked kitchenette including fresh oranges on the counter when we arrived. We were shocked by how nice everything was.  The loft room that we had was extremely comfortable and spotless and the bathroom was modern. Its close to everything and easy to find. The description is accurate, shy of revealing what a gem it truly is! The owner goes above and beyond. He truly cares about your comfort and it shows, even with the complementary raki. It felt like we were in his home. He and this place made our trip to Crete so much more than expected! Thank you!
