Ammos Apartments

We were much looking forward to our stay at Ammos Apartments having waited for so long due to the Covid 19 pandemic, but at last in May 2022, we were able to make the trip. We stayed in Villa Thalia and being a couple there was so much space available to us! The owners Dionisia and her husband are so super helpful and friendly. We arrived very late, but it was not too much trouble for which we were very grateful and shown our huge apartment, where there was fresh fruit, local wine, water and eggs waiting for us, a really nice touch. The apartment was immaculately clean and everything there for our needs, it was absolutely perfect for us. It was beautiful to wake up each day and see the deep blue ocean from the window, and see Kefalonia in the near distance! The location too is also perfect, it is about 1 mile (1.6km) from the main Alykanas village where the majority of the tavernas and bars are, but the beach is only about a 2 minute walk away! There are also much nearer tavernas and an excellent beach side restaurant (Shoestring) which can be enjoyed. Dionisia and Dennis were really helpful in providing reading material and information regarding Zakynthos. Again this was really nice as going over the same thing for every arriving guest, must get repetitive, but their enthusiasm to please was much appreciated. Alykanas, is a great base, almost anywhere on the island can be reached in less than 45 mins and Zakynthos town in 20/25 mins. During our stay we were also treated to a home made Apple Pie which was left in our room. This was a great surprise to us, as we never get this kind of treatment anywhere, and it made our enjoyment of our holiday even better. We slept very well here as it is all very quiet being set away from the main village, which made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. We rented a car to get around which was very useful to us to explore the island. All too quickly our 7 day stay was over, and it was very hard to leave, but we really appreciated Dionisia's and Dennis amazing Greek hospitality, and for sure we would love to return one day!
