The accommodation is basic, but clean and comfortable, but your here to escape to the magical beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can sign everything to your room, so no need to carry cash.

They only take cash and there are no local cash machines ! So bring enough local currency

The food and drinks are better value than Senegambia. 

The tandoori Shrimps, chicken and fish at lunchtime are fabulous.

Make sure you get off your sun bed and walk along the beach in both directions. It is still a working fishing village and lovely to see the variety.

I paid 1000 delassi per night, three meals a day and soft drinks averaged 1500 delassi. My taxi from Senegambia to the resort was 1300 delassi.

Wonderful beach

So with the help of my mate, I ended up taking an unplanned week in the Gambia.
I had no idea what to expect and was booked into a really basic hotel – yes £6 per night – my expectations were so low; anything would have made me happy.
But we came to the Rainbow. It was basic. What can you expect for £6 a night, but it was clean, it was colourful, the staff were amazing and the place is positioned on a tiny piece of paradise.
Each day I’d wake up to a basic breakfast of bread, eggs and coffee – yes I could have had the full English for a few dollars more but that did me for the day. Then I’d find a bed on one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. All I waned to do day after day, night after night was be on that beach, on my lovely beach bed, enchanted by that lovely view, those starry starry nights, that bright pinky orange sunrise, those unbelievable sunsets.
Thank you Gambia, thank you Rainbow Beach Resort. Ill be back very soon.

Tiotally Paradise

The rainbow has got what you need for a lovely relaxation holiday. The place is not a 5 star place but the staff and where you are makes it feel like you are in a five star hotel.I was there out of season but the weather was still hot. 
The accommodation was more than adequate for what I needed and everyday the staff would put flower petals on my bed after cleaning the room. 
It is that hot you need a cold shower as often as possible and the pressure in the shower was not as good as one would hope but is good enough for what I needed.
The food is delightful could not get enough of there fish yassa.
Drinks and food is cheap enough there and the drinks are pretty good.
If you go to this hotel get a taxi from the hotel to come and pick you up and ask for musa to be the taxi driver as he is very reliable and very helpful.
My overall experience of the hotel was amazing you are right on the beach and the Atlantic ocean is very warm I had a great stay they have a laundry service which is good. 
If you need anything done the staff will try and do it for you.
You have to realise that when staying at rainbow you will need a taxi to go anywhere as you are in the middle of nowhere but it's not a problem because if your going for relaxation you won't need to go anywhere because you have it all there at the hotel.
