This was exactly what I’d hoped to find in Provence. A lovely little apartment with a ground floor terrace where breakfast is served on white tablecloths. Close enough to Saint Rémy de Provence to walk and not worry about the craziness of parking in a small southern France town. Two pools (unheated) and parking included. We had an apartment so we could make some of our own meals and it was fully equipped - there was even a clothes washer! The staff were all very sweet, especially Annie who seemed to be a manager of sorts. The perfect  combination of modern convenience with authentic Provençale ambience.

Authentic Provençal Accommodation.

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely guesthouse. We arrived by bus from Arles and were delighted to find that the accommodation was an easy 5 min walk from the bus stop. It is great for people like us without a car as you can easily visit many other local attractions and interesting cities ( e.g. Avignon) by the very reliable ( and very reasonable priced) bus service. There is also plenty of parking space for those travelling by car.
Our room was clean and bright, with a very comfy bed. We had booked ‘The Suite’ and were somewhat surprised to find that our bathroom was across the landing. An older person or child wanting to use the bathroom in the middle of the night would need to be very careful not to fall down the stairs if they were half asleep. (This was our only quibble, as the website made no mention of the fact that the bathroom wasn’t ensuite.)  The bathroom itself was beautiful, with a huge bath and a very efficient, modern shower.

Gladis produced beautiful breakfasts every day, and even came in to work early one day when we had an early start. Even though our plans became somewhat muddled, she was very charming  and told us not to worry, and that we had not inconvenienced her. She is a very kind and charming hostess - and she has a team of other ladies working at the Mas who are also very kind and helpful.

There is an ‘outdoor’ kitchen for guests to use, which meant we could make our own light meals and snacks. Teas and coffees are available too.
This is a lovely place to stay, and I hope we will be able to visit again one day. Many thanks to Gladis and her team!

Superb location; very comfortable and clean accommodation

We spent two nights in this charming B&B and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found Gladis to be very helpful, flexible and she served a simple but delicious breakfast . It is true that there is not a constant staff presence on site, but that was fine with us. We had the freedom to use the the beautiful property, including the small living room, shaded terrace, summer kitchen and pool.We love to buy food at the market for a light lunch or  picnic and the small fridge for wine and food, available cutlery, glasses and plates were perfect for this! The bedroom and bathroom we had were beautiful and very private. I would highly recommend Mas de Tourterelles.

Charming and welcoming

We stayed here for the night en-route to South of France and it is a real hidden gem! 
The rooms are all different and have lots of character. The host is lovely and the breakfast typical French.
We should have booked for a few more nights but at-least we know where to go back to when we drive through the Provence again..

A home from home walking distance to town

I just returned from a 15 day stay at this B&B.  Saint Remy is my favorite village in France and I have stayed there many times, but this was the first time at the Mas des Tourterelles.  The location is great because it is an easy 10 minute walk into the center of town, with a sidewalk.  The staff is wonderful  Gladis is there in the mornings to serve breakfast and she returns from 5-7pm in the evening.  On weekends Justine is there.  Both young women are extremely friendly and kind and help with whatever you request.  Dany is the housekeeper and she keeps the rooms spotless 7 days a week.  Only Justine speaks English.  The breakfast is presented beautifully in the lovely courtyard with croissants, bread, jam and fresh fruit, juice and hot beverages.  There is a refrigerator you can use to store whatever else you many need.  There is a kitchen and living room available for use by guests.  The rooms are basic but comfortable.  The apartment is lovely.  The only negative is really something that cannot be fixed which is the dusty small road outside the wall.  Sometimes when a car goes buy, dust flies over the wall and into the pool.  This is common in Provence.

Great Location and Great Staff

This is a truly charming place that does not do itself justice.  It is a converted Mas in wonderfully traditional Provençal style, full of character with simple but tastefully furnished rooms, a delightful swimming pool, really good French breakfasts and charming staff who keep the whole place scrupulously clean. There is private parking on site, and it is just ten minutes walk from the lovely centre of St Remy, a charming town we knew well from previous visits.  But we can only agree with other visitors that communication is not its strong point. Obtaining confirmation of bookings and replies to emails is chancy at best.  In truth, communication is pathetic, largely because no-one seems to know who the owner is or where he/she might be: ‘Peut-être à Paris’ was all one of the cleaning ladies could suggest.  This means that after around mid-day when the cleaners depart, there is no-one there until between 5 and 7, when the staff again depart. We arrived in the dark at around 10, managed to find a way in and then discovered a note with our name on the door to the room.  It all looked a bit basic and we pondered finding somewhere else, but then in light of the next morning, the charm of the Mas was all revealed and we shall go again – if we can manage to book!

Lovely - but its own worst enemy!

We chose St. Remy as a central location in Provence from which to explore.  Given our fairly tight schedule we did not explore nearly as much nor as widely as we expected.  There is plenty to do from this base on short day trips.  The farm house is old and classic in its style, and you must visit the kitchen.  Breakfast was prepared there, but it was served on the patio, garden style.  Nice options for coffee or espresso drinks, and various pastries are accompanied by mixed, chopped fresh fruit.  Delightful.  The hosts are congenial and helpful.

A comfortable farm house with large rooms

This is a very basic B&B, we were in the Blanche room on the ground floor, which is clean and a reasonable size but very  basic, the bathroom just has an opaque curtain separating it from the bedroom and the "wardrobe" is an alcove with a curtain across, there is a separate toilet with a door. The external appearance is generally tatty and we really didn't want to stay for our 4 night booking when we arrived. 

However there are several good points, Elodie who runs the B&B (the owners are absent) is very helpful and works hard with the breakfast (served outside our room) and the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels, the pool is also a good size, and as others have mentioned its only a five minute walk into town. So better than our initial impression and with better furnishings and some flowers in the garden this could be a lovely place. A word of warning, checkin is between 5 and 7 pm, there is no one there between these times to check you in.

The contrast with our previous fabulous b&B, (Carcassonne B&B which was actually cheaper) made this a difficult review.

Well located, basic but clean B&B

This is a charming property in a good location just 10 minutes walk from town.  It has parking and a swimming pool. Our room was nice but lacking one or two little extras (e.g. tumblers for drinking/rinsing teeth).  The owner of the property does not live on site (or even in the town) and the place is run by Sophie and Ulysse (who don't live there either), one of whom comes in every morning and early evening.  Sophie is charming, helpful and generous with the amount of breakfast.  Ulysse, on the other hand, does not seem to be interested in the place or the guests and is a bit mean with the amount of bread at breakfast. The place just lacks the home from home atmosphere one expects in this type of accommodation.  Expensive for what if offers.  One good thing - the freshly squeezed orange juice.

Not really a proper chambre d'hote

On the positive side, this is a charming hotel located ten minutes outside St. Remy. Our room, on the ground floor, was large and quiet and clean. We had a parking spot, which is always important in Provence. 

Breakfast is basic with each person receiving a croissant with butter and jelly, bread, a piece of fruit and, sometimes, orange juice. The croissant and baguette were very good. It is served at 8:30 which is late for us. We like to get up early and travel to a different city each day. We stayed for five days.

The bed and breakfast consists of five rooms and is managed by Sophie and Ulysses, who, I believe are a married couple. One of them is on the premises  in the morning from about 8:00 for a couple of hours and in the evening from about 5:00 for a couple of hours. In between, the common areas are locked and you cannot get a cup of coffee or just stay inside.

Our complaint has to do with Ulysses. We found him to be argumentative and confrontational. On one occasion he ran after us as we walked to town to tell us that we had forgotten to turn off the light and should return to do so. When I complained that breakfast was to late he said that if I did not like his work, I should leave the hotel. The croissants were delivered daily to the hotel by the baker. One day, we were in a hurry and skipped breakfast. Ulysses came running after us and accused me of breaking into the croissants and taking to many of them. I had not touched the croissants. When I explained that, he did not apologize. 

On the other hand, Sophie was very helpful, friendly and easy to work with. On the days she was there, the hotel was much more enjoyable for us. 

I feel bad about writing a negative review because we really like Sophie.
