Holiday Inn Paris - Gare de Lyon Bastille by IHG

We recommend the Holiday Inn, Gare de Lyon for these reasons: 1. Our room (519), was very quiet & dark. We did not hear any noise from outside and the curtains made the room properly dark. 2. the breakfast (included in our booking) offered a large range of food and drinks. Everyday there was something different offered in addition to the staples, e.g. different salads an cakes 3. the room was well laid out, good size (for Europe) 4. the TV worked - with English speaking news channels (important to us) 5. all of the staff were friendly and professional; they had plenty of staff working especially at breakfast to make sure things were replenished and cleared away. 6. Obviously close to Gare de Lyon which is very convenient for transport, but if you are a walker - you can also walk to many places from here - 4.5kms to The Lourve, Musee d'Orangerie, Musee d'Orsay. 2km to Musee Picasso 7&8 - there are many 'local' restaurants and bars in the vicinity 7. La Cappadocia restaurant a good value turkish only metres away. 8. If you like a cool vibe young bar, Le Bar à Mines, only 350m away.
