My mother, aunt, and I stayed one night at this hotel, and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was incredibly nice, welcoming and helpful all throughout. The hotel has a cozy setup in which you can really feel the family's personal care. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with an extra fan if needed. The pool was such a delight to swim in, clean and isolated in its own quiet nook. We dined at the hotel, and the menu they offered was delicious. The location is absolutely charming alongside a river and grand fields.
I definitely want to stay there again, for a longer period of time! 100% recommend this family-owned hotel!

Countryside gem

In the Relais Motard group there are those hotels which are not really biker friendly. They are in name only. With the Rives d'Allier you have a PROPER biker hotel. The owers, Bénédict and Pascal are bikers themselves and they know what is required. So there is a good large car par (with video surveillance), and 2 garages if needed, Pascal can provide everything you need to cope with a problem, or if he can't do it himself, he will help you by getting on the phone. We had a tyre issue, he managed to find a second-hand tyre, took his car and drove us to the seller. Really first class stuff.
The bedrooms are beautifully clean, with comfy beds, and loads of hot water. The food was totally delicious, and they will cater to special needs if warned. Our picnic lunches were excellent too.
We were there as a group of 12 women over a weekend. We had a fabulous time, and will definitely go back.

A proper biker hotel

I stayed here on an unplanned visit due to car problems, the hotel could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and comfortable the food was always good and the pool a real relief on the hottest days. The hotel also liaised with the garage to assist with some of my poor French. 

Great staff 

This hotel used to be in the Michelin red guide but for some reason has been omitted this year - the only reason I can think of is the lack of choice at dinner.
The young couple who run it are most helpful and friendly - e.g. opening up the swimming pool early so I could have a swim before I left in the morning. It is a roadside hotel (don't worry - no traffic) in an unexceptional but pleasant enough village. It has been modernised. The lounge/sitting are downstairs is tastefully decoated and furnished and very comfortable. The swimming pool is small but clean with all facilities (unfortunately something of a trek from the hotel itself).
There was no choice at dinner which was simple but tasty and very cheap. My only slight criticism is that more could be made of the rear of the hotel where the trrace is a large empty space just a few tables and parasols would transform it into an acceptable sitting area.
For mew this was an overnight stop on the way south but the area has much to offer from scenery to attractive villages and monuments.
My 6 star award is based on its great value and the hope that this enthusiastic couple  will succeed in keeping the hotel going.

Lovely family run hotel

If you are up to see Chavaniac or just touring the beautiful Auvergne you must stay here. Immaculately clean and appointed. Beautiful breakfast (not included) but well worth. Great place.

When you visit the birthplace of Lafayette

Our welcome was special. Nice chat with our hostess on arrival and secure garage for our motorbike. Very comfortable room, nice and bright and airy having just been redecorated.
We had a couple of beers on the terrace having eaten earlier in the day. Lounge was almost finished after refurb - could perhaps do with satellite TV which might attract like minded people. Great nights sleep and absolutely charming family - wife learned fluent English from an Irish girl in Switzerland.
Good luck with your venture. Would like to stay again and sample the cuisine - looked good.

Very nice hotel now privately owned by young couple with"Motards" especially in mind

The hostess & new owner was very, very welcoming to us after our hard day's riding (motorbikes). My colleague was presented with a key for the secure garage parking for our bikes (for which no additional charge). Language was no problem as she had learned English properly through an Irish girl while working and living on Switzerland!The hotel has been thoroughly revamped and is presented in a modern way - it is no longer a "Logis de France"and is very well maintained. We did not dine here as we had already eaten, but did have a couple of beers.Our twin bedded room was very clean and comfortable and had satellite TV.The new owners are bikers too and there are plaques and magazines to reflect this. Thank you for looking after us and we look forward to having the opportunity again - good luck with your new acquisition, keep up the good work.
