The rooms are comfortable, but the place has the atmosphere of a 1950s English seaside boarding house, complete with harridan landlady. A typewritten notice in the bathroom invites guests not to steal the towels, although it’s difficult to imagine who would want to, given their quality. Wifi doesn’t reach the upstairs rooms.

The room and bathroom were quite OK. Don’t be taken in by the superficial friendliness of the owner, however. It hides a rigid attitude towards her guests exemplified by her insistence that we left the key behind when we went out, resulting in us being locked out one evening. The bathroom had a notice inviting us not to steal the towels, although

We stayed for 4 nights on a short break exploring Normandy. Isabelle is a superb host: extremely friendly, delicious breakfast (fresh apple juice from the Cayé farm), cosy atmosphere, attentive to any need, very welcoming to our young children. Excellent value and beautiful setting as well. We unreservedly recommend Le Ferme de la Ruette.

A wonderful welcome

I can't speak too highly of the welcome we were given by Isabelle Caye to her family home. A stunning location in a huge Normandy farm. The breakfast was generous and beautifully fresh. The family room was huge.

A really lovely place - perfect overnight stay near to Caen

Great value just off the touristy-beaten path. A stay on a real farm, so no frills - but friendly hostess, homemade jam at breakfast. Room was small, a bit shabby, but quaint and functional. Recommended if on a budget.

Great value

The owner was very accommodating when our arrival time kept getting delayed - we were on bikes and were cycling from Avranches station. Otherwise, nice and quiet but fairly basic. Short cycle from there to mont st Michel. Also a really nice restaurant (Le Manoir) close by. 

Stop off near mont st Michel 

Great one night stay, checked in late in the afternoon without booking, the room was nice & clean, breakfast was great (the rhebard&banana&orange jam was awsome).
I recommend this B&B for Mont St. Michel visit.
