Within an old tradional building the rooms had funny little quirks but they worked. The sunken bath next to the balcony and the being John malkovich entrance to the balcony. In another place it would be called boutique. It felt so comfortable staying here and the owner was really helpful if we needed anything. Great location as well. It was my birthday and the cleaner must had seen the birthday cards as when we returned to our room there was a box of chocolates and a present wishing me happy birthday waiting for me. A lovely genuine touch. All this for about £35 a night for the best room in the hotel. Fantastic.

Quirky and comforting

Single room was really small, but truly enough for one. I did not spend my day in hotel room, but in town... AC, TV and Fridge - what else you need?...

Simple, but full value of money

We had the deluxe double room here for one night.  We fell in love with it when we first saw the photos on booking.com and we were not disappointed with it - it is exactly as seen in the photos.   It was decorated in a period style with lots of dark wood and beams, it really looked lovely.  The sunken bath was delightful and the little terrace had wonderful views across the lake.  The bed was a proper double bed with one large mattress and was very comfortable but pushed up against a wall due to lack of space.  There was also a small fridge, good wifi and everything was very clean.  There were only a few sockets and two were at ceiling height which is slightly impractical!  Some of the windows don't have blinds so it gets very light in the room very early.  There was a lot of noise from a nearby bar but thankfully it didn't go on much past midnight.  The floor area of the room is good but the space is restricted by the sloping ceilings, it would be a problem for tall people or for a long stay, but as we were only there for one night we just enjoyed the cuteness of it.  It is up four flights of steep narrow stairs which for us just added to the charm but for some people or lots of luggage it would be a problem.  Be aware that it is right under the roof and despite 4 roof windows and the door to the terrace it was incredibly hot in the room even at the beginning of June, I can't imagine what it would be like in August.  There is aircon although we didn't use it as we prefer to have the windows open for fresh air.  The guesthouse only has about 9 rooms and is set in a traditional style old house in the heart of the old town.  It is near all the places of interest - about 3 minutes walk to the lakeside and to St Sofia Church.  The fortress is about 15 minutes walk.  Parking is a problem in Ohrid and there is no dedicated parking for the guest house but the hostess went with us to find a place to park and we were lucky as we managed to get a space only a few yards away.  We didn't find the hostess as friendly as we were expecting.  We had previously informed that we had a drive of over 250km including border crossings so were not able to give an arrival time and said we thought it would be early evening.  We then had a problem with our phones while we were abroad and were not able to make any calls so couldn't contact her during the day as we had said we would.  We actually arrived at 7.30pm (still before check-in finished) and she wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed that we were late even though we apologised.  Not a big deal but it wasn't a great welcome after a tiring drive and it was disappointing after reading the reviews.

Charming traditional guesthouse in the heart of Ohrid Old Town

With a great location, it is in the heart of old town and a short walk to the lakeside shore.  Rooms are tiny but they make good use of the limited space.  There are white stucco walls, artsy overhead lights, wood carved headboard, wood beams on the ceiling  and a pretty stone bowl used as a sink in the bathroom. One window handle and light fixture were broken - seems they have not kept up on repairs. There was a tiny t.v. There was no bottled water provided although there was an empty mini-fridge.  A strong stink came from the bathroom at times and there was smell of paint on the ground floor and in the guestroom one afternoon. Additionally, the bathroom mirror had a crack across it right at eye level - a bit annoying. I also found a cockroach in my room the first evening. There are very steep winding stairs to access rooms. Beware, they only take cash.  They do not have a kitchen and breakfast is served at a restaurant a short walk away. Price is quite cheap - you get what you pay for.

Quaint inn but has seen better days

After reading other reviews saying the rooms with the sunken bath were great, we requested one of these rooms. The lady didn't mention that the bath doesn't have a plug - they can't be used as actual baths, something about putting pressure on the floor?? So you have to sit in the bath and wash yourself with the shower head, which was quite hard for me as a 6ft1 guy! 
The architecture of the place is lovely, and it really is quaint. The hostess was very friendly, and owns a nearby restaurant, although we sometimes had a hard time communicating in English!

Unfortunately this visit was spoiled for me as I left my Kindle in the room when checking out. I realised a couple of hours later and returned, to find the room cleaned and the Kindle missing. The owner rang the cleaner and was asking if she'd seen anything and she kept on saying that she "never saw it" and "doesn't understand" when I tried to ask her more questions. I 100% left it in the room, so it is clear to me that the cleaner had stolen it, but there's nothing I can do :(
